Slipped under Crystal's door during the afternoon.
A returned RSVP card, tucked inside its envelope. Fettucini Alfredo has been selected, with vegetables and chicken. For dessert, a small check-mark next to tiramisu, almost an afterthought. Printed very carefully at the bottom is a simple, "Thank you -- Amara."

[Left on Charles Xavier's voicemail]
"Charles, this is Cartier St. Croix. I apologize for the inappropriateness of this message now that neither of my children are students at your school, but Amanti and I do not know where else to turn.
"A week ago we contacted Marius at his Paris hotel hoping to convince him to return home. We have heard nothing from him since, and there has been no further activity on his bank account. Given the nature of his current condition, his mother and I are . . . 'alarmed' is not sufficient a term.
"We have contracted private investigators. Thus far their efforts have yielded nothing. I know it is no longer your responsibility, but if there is anything that can be done to help us locate our son you would have our gratitude.
"Please contact me at your first convenience. Thank you."
