Am I guessing that the little card and envelope means that the RSVP is supposed to be returned to you with food choices? Is that required, because I... I can't write that small. My handwriting's about a mile outside of readable still, and I can't figure out if it's worse to send you something that can't be read, or send you something that's not on that little card. I type all my homework for classes, so normally I don't have to worry about it, but between the claws and having gigantic hands, pens and I aren't really getting along anymore.
Also, and I'm totally not sure how to put this without sounding like an ass, which I've totally been known to do (Sound like an ass, I mean)... I've got food issues, so I tend to think about other people's, because hey, I can't be the only person who likes to eat and not have to worry about what they can and can't, right? I don't know how much halal that the new girl, Sooraya, is keeping. One of our previous teachers (He got married and moved to California) kept it, but I think he was pretty relaxed about it. But he spoke English, so dealing with food choices wasn't a problem. I'm guessing Sooraya'll get Angel or Nate to help, but I figured you might want to get a warning if you didn't already have one.

Kyle,
You consumed over 20 hot dogs in New York...I thought your problem would be deciding what not to get rather than which ones to choose. I also did not think that anyone would have issues with all of the choices. Some options are vegetarian or vegan and someone could even be provided with raw meat if he or she so desired.
Also, you were just supposed to make little marks next to the name of each item you wanted including an indication of how many of each type you wanted. You can email your choices as well. If you still cannot eat anything listed there, please let me know what you can eat.

Crystal,
I wasn't really worried about me. Like you said - twenty hot dogs in New York. I know what stuff I need to avoid and just kind of ... avoid it. But I figured a heads up would be good just in case, you know, because Sooraya's not great with English yet.
Oh. Okay. I've never had to do the RSVP thing before. I've only heard of it for weddings. Again, with the better safe then sorry. Assuming stuff's gotten me in trouble, so, hey, I figured I'd check.
I'm good with the eating. Little card and little envelope on the way to you now.

Kyle,
Thank you, I will try to make sure that Sooraya is not confused about the invitation and that she is able to eat something. Do you think anyone else is confused about the RSVP? I will not be able to order the right amount of food if people do not respond, and Medusa and I will be going home for the weekend to celebrate my birthday in Attilan.

Probably. RSVP's aren't really done for America for stuff like birthday parties. At least, I don't remember ever hearing about them, but I'm not the best guy to ask. My parents didn't celebrate mine (It's a crazy religion thing. I don't get it either.) so I never got a party.
I mean, to compare? My 16th birthday party here was ... I think burgers and fries and bowling. Or mingolf. One of those. There were definitly burgers involved. And it was kind of a casual not really a party thing. More like a ... dinner out where we happened to have a birthday and I didn't have to pay for my own dinner that night.

Kyle,
Oh, I see. I did not mean to confuse anyone. I suppose this means that no one here realizes that if they do not wish to attend, they are still supposed to turn in the RSVP card stating this fact.
I have played minigolf but I have never done this "bowling." Are these the normal games for birthday parties here? I did not wish to initiate the off-campus organization of a large group of students. I just wanted to have a little party; I thought it would be fun.
If no one else is interested, I will just cancel the party.

Yeah, they might not know. Some might. Like I said - not the best guy to ask. Angel might know better than me, or Forge -might-. Course, with Forge, you never quite know. Marie might know, actually, now that I think about it. She's all Southern Belle and all - a little better cultured then Fuzzy Kid from Montana.
Bowling's one of those things that's hard to explain. I dunno who invented it, it's basically chucking a big ball.. uh, made of hard plastic now, I'm not sure what they were made of before. Maybe wood? Down a long aisle towards pins. Probably one of those things that's best explained in person at a bowling alley.
I... dunno what's normal for a birthday party. I've had... one. Sort of and been to .. two? And none of them were really parties. It was just us doing our normal go-out-thing and the birthday person got to pick where we went or whatever.
I'd guess it's not folks aren't interested is that they're doing what I did and looking at that card and going "... huh?" - only I've been hit on the back of the head too much by Forge or Jay or Marius before to not just ask questions instead of ignoring it.

Kyle,
I understand. This is one of those "difference in culture" things. I would have asked Jennie about it, but she is not here because she is off missing in Europe somewhere.

Yeaaaaah. I'm kinda glad Forge is in Australia doing whatever crazy security stuff Forge is doing in Australia, because Forge pacing around my room worrying is not cool at all.
If nothing else, the track record here for finding missing kids is pretty dang good. Heck, we find missing kids we didn't even lose! (That would be me.)
... You know, I've got an idea about that differences in culture thing. I just have to sit down with Angel about it, because she's the only classmate I have now who's from here who's actually social.
