Hi guys

I'm Kyle Gibney, hopefully somebody gave you a heads up that I'd be emailing. I'm one of the folks here who is a legit certified Educator, and I've been told you'd had some interrupted education for reasons.

To start off, I already got the heads up about your preferred name(s). I will totally use that in person, in email, on papers, you do you. I just also wanted to you warn you that transcripts and paperwork has to go under the government name, so you're gonna see some 'transferring student' 'educational goals' 'transcripts from alternate schools' type papers with the unpreferred name.

I am not subjecting anyone to a long rambling email full of education talk. Just let me know when you're free, and we'll talk. I swear to god this is not gonna be a whole thing, we're just gonna figure out what you want to do, what New York says you gotta do, and get through it.

Yeah I know summer's coming up. This isn't gonna be 8 hours in a classroom 5 days a week kind of thing. Promise - there's only 2 of you, and I'm not that kind of teacher.

Hey Madin - I was working on some other stuff for our new arrivals and it occurred to me you might've had a pretty interrupted education. I know you're probably still getting settled in, but if you want, I do GED tutoring through the rec center in District X. It's very tailored to 'mutants have fucked up educational history' needs, so very no-guilt no-shame no-demands.

I did a google - doesn't look like Australia has a direct GED but it'd be like something called a Tertiary Preparation Certificate.

You don't have to - and saying "nah" doesn't mean forever no, it's 'anytime' offer - just let me know.

You're 17, right? So, New York says you gotta for another like, 3 weeks but also I don't even think you've transferred into the NY school system so eh, maybe not.

how'd you feel about -

There's GED classes at the rec center in District X if you ever want them. I will leave you alone about this for an entire year if you sit down with me for 15 minutes and talk about what school you've had, and maybe like a little about why you're like "Ew, no."

And next year I'll be like "You wanna GED? No? Cool? Yes? Cool."

kyle u made me go to stupid school the first time i have that diploma thing that says im done and i am DONE. im willing to learn more science for the portal thing but thats probably a clint problem not more school.

In my defense I have had 13 concussions since then. Continue on your non-schooling ways.

My going rate for 'translating Clint speak into things people can understand' is 4 donuts but for Czarinas it's 2 donuts.

Healing factor. I get a brain CAT and MRI scan every 6 months, it's fine. Just means like, if you got that diploma and I got a concussion right after I might not remember it.

Both. Bad on purpose sometimes (green bean casserole), sometimes failed experiment (watermelon habanero)

Like I said, this is not 8 hours of classroom 5 days a week. I'm not that kind of teacher. I DO have a classroom, but it's mostly an office where I hide my snacks.
