It went.. a hell of a lot better than I expected to. There was hugging, and - I'm not gonna lie to you - there was clingy sleeping with a puppy on our feet. I think it's going to be alright.
I think, when you feel like a trip northwards, the drinks will be celebratory ones. You can tell me about what you didn't while we were out, or not.. not like I'm going anywhere that would prevent me from lending you an ear later.
Thanks, Paul. It was a good, much-needed kick in the ass. Your first drink is on me.

Subject: A request, of sorts.
Cheers,
I'm sorry to have this be my introduction to you, but truthfully, I couldn't think of anyone here who would be better suited to speak to about this. My name's Shinobi Shaw - I'm sharing a suite with Sam Guthrie, if you know him at all - but I'm not really writing on behalf of myself. Not.. exactly. Rather, I'm writing on my girlfriend's behalf, though the request I want to make is my own.
From what I can understand, you have had an experience much like my Sarah has.. she, too, once returned home to find she was the only one of her clan left alive. She was much younger than you, though, and far less disciplined - she feels her clan is crying out for vengeance, and has been devoting her life to achieving it. She made an attempt, earlier this year, but I nearly lost her in the process.. and I think, now that she's seen how shaken the experience has left me, that she might be willing to try and focus on life, rather than death.
I was hoping you might be willing to talk with her. There really aren't any people here who can relate to her on that score, and it's my hope that finding someone who can might help her.
If you could try to help her, I would owe you a great debt. I understand if it isn't something.. well, I'll understand if you need to decline, but I had to ask.
