Hi Kyle,
I just saw you met our interdimensional Hope on the journals.
Yesterday I had the chance to talk a bit with her about her education. I got the impression it's kinda spotty. She apparently did math worksheets with Uncle Hank in the lab occasionally and some other stuff with her Grandma Jean when she had the chance. She's also not very fond of reading and I have my doubts about her reading level. History is also going to be interesting if she stays, but I have an idea or two for that.
Between what might happen with her dad and her background, I am a little hesitant about throwing her in a full day education program right away, but she needs something to do with her day. Stuff like math, reading and writing will always come in handy.
Starting out with an assessment or two would probably be a good idea, I think?
Let me know what you think.

Date: 2024-01-02 09:45 pm (UTC)I don't think she's gonna handle "lets sit down for 8 hours and read and do worksheets" I think we're lucky that her home dimension got her literate at all I mean they don't have smart phones?
(or ice cream, wth)
She seems pretty convinced she's going home, and from what Clinto and co said about that Evan kid she's only got a short time before she has to, so I'm gonna sit on it for now. I'm just hoping her dad didn't get arrested or someshit.
HAS ANYONE CHECKED HOSPITALS for a 'tall white haired guy with a metal arm'

From what Hope has told me her home would fit right in with a dystopian YA novel. She was so surprised at the hot chocolate I brought.
I understand what you mean about leaving things be for now and Hope won't be enthusiastic, but if she's still here in a week or two... I'd like to revisit our options.
I am not too sure about the hospitals. I have mostly been focusing on Hope herself. But if this Cable is like anything like the Nate we knew, that is an explanation that would make a lot of sense.

Yeah, if she's here long enough to need some kind of legal ID, lets work on something for her to do with her time that's NOT "sentry duty and stabbing lake monsters with spear guns"

Sounds like a good plan.
One thing, I just saw Hope with her phone. For the journal post she is happily using the voice-to-text and text-to-voice options. So that's not really something we'll be able to go on if it comes to that point.
