Hello, all. As part of my campaign to make amends to a region I have so recently abused, a recent conversation with our esteemed Dr. Grey has inspired me to see about funding a clinic for the 11th Precinct. As you are all known to me as volunteers at the local Community Centre I thought I would first engage you for your thoughts on the matter. Should any of you happen to know of any additional interested parties please loop them into this email so I might make their acquaintance. The more eyes the better.
Before any action is taken I wanted to ask after the areas of greatest need. What gaps in service exist? Are there any local services with which we might partner in specialised care (for example, reproductive and sexual health, substance use treatment, mental health care and so forth). I would like to assure existing providers any services will serve as a compliment to their own rather than competition. I would appreciate, too, if any of you have any contacts within the community to which I may be referred for further inquiries.
Like many a rich man before me, I seek to expiate my sins with good works. Happily for everyone I am likely to run out of money before I run out of sin.

Date: 2024-02-19 07:11 pm (UTC)Marius, I've attached a contact list for people who will likely have valuable suggestions to give regarding a clinic in DX. I don't know of anyone specifically providing clinical/medical care, unfortunately, though I do think Alani's been looking to coordinate assistance with health related necessities. Sooraya, I think you have more information on that?
Best,
Terry

Hey Alani,
This is definitely something you would be interested in and a lot of valuable stuff to add to.
Marius,
Could you make sure Alani is added to the any other discussions.

That said I think if the clinic can create a stable source of primary care for all ages and maybe even some secondary care to start out with, so much will have be won already. It's all been pretty make do for a long time.

Date: 2024-02-19 11:47 pm (UTC)Do you happen to know if there are any sexual/reproductive health entities 1) within easy travelling distance, and 2) amendable to mutants? This is a bit beyond the scope of primary care, but like many marginalised groups mutants do engage in survival sex work, and of course reproductive health is a concern for every demographic. I am curious about local access to services for SUD for similar reasons.
