Evening,
Haven't been about the mansion much today but I wanted to let you know I had fun last night. It's been a while, actually.
Thank you. And I look forward to the surprise. :)
Alison
Ps – you are actually not being grumpy about the kids running amok aboard the Blackbird? I'm stunned. Boggled. At a loss for words. Ok, maybe not the last. ;)

What can I say?
Date: 2004-10-07 12:57 am (UTC)Even if I'm fairly certain that you cheat outrageously at poker.
And you're most definitely welcome. Any time you want to get pushed into the lake, go for a jog, a moonlight walk along the paths, play poker, whatever - come and find me.
I'd like that.
Salaam,
Haroun
So throwing you in the lake...
Date: 2004-10-07 01:22 am (UTC)Hey, you're the one who won last night, may I remind you.
No jogging for a few days, but I'd like that too. First place to look will be in the Hangar deck, I suppose? Follow the sound of the babytalk...
:)
Alison
All that means...
Date: 2004-10-07 01:29 am (UTC)It hurts, I know, but it's true. ;)
And you're just not going to let it go, O Shoelace Girl, are you?
Salaam,
Haroun
Unless I'm just...
Date: 2004-10-07 01:38 am (UTC)Pbbhtt!
...
Gah! She did not. Madelyn ratted me out? Betrayed. Most cruelly betrayed. I need to have a talk with my darling doctor friend, I think.
Oh well, at least I got a lollipop out of it!
Alison
And all I did...
Date: 2004-10-07 01:47 am (UTC)And I like to think I can read people well enough to know when they're outclassed at poker. And you, my loveliest of songbirds, were pretty clearly overmatched.
*grins* Of course, I'm more than open to the idea of you proving me wrong.
Salaam,
Haroun
I can't believe...
Date: 2004-10-07 01:52 am (UTC)I told you I wasn't that good at poker. I just enjoy playing. Of course, the lucky streak will get you when you least expect it. Ayup. Just you wait.
Grnrm. So that's a challenge, huh?
*g*
Alison
I'm no poker God either!
Date: 2004-10-07 01:59 am (UTC)Of course it's a challenge if you want it to be a challenge. And the enjoyment of playing - that's the most important part of all. It's not who wins or who loses, it's the company, the conversation, the good times.
Hey, I am reminded - while he's probably a little young for poker, maybe you, your son, and I could play Uno or something some time? I keep meaning to introduce myself to the little guy, and that's be a good way to do it.
Does he play card games?
Salaam,
Haroun
You make a pretty good fish though. ;)
Date: 2004-10-07 02:09 am (UTC)Challenges are fun and add spice to things, but it's as you said. I wouldn't have it any other way, really.
And I haven't played Uno in years. Why didn't I think of introducing Miles to that? It's a brilliant idea.
Of course, he has a thing going with books right now and there's so much out there to cover we've got boatloads left, but still...
Uno. Yes.
Alison
Re: You make a pretty good fish though. ;)
Date: 2004-10-07 02:13 am (UTC)And yes, bluffing is an art and a science. Ask Doug.
I'd be happy to buy a few decks and settle down for some Uno one night. Just let me know when works best around our duty rosters.
Salaam,
Haroun
Pbbhtt!
Date: 2004-10-07 02:22 am (UTC)As for talking to Doug, I may at that, now that he's surfaced and is back amongst the living. I need to talk to him anyway. I swear, that boy sometimes...
Re: Uno - Saturday evenings are usually reserved for new games. Jamie takes over for me when I can't make it because of something team related. So in short, any Saturday would be good.
:)
Alison
Yes, but...
Date: 2004-10-07 02:27 am (UTC)And speaking, indirectly, of T-shirts and slogans - you had once promised me a shopping trip. Figure once Lorna comes back from visiting her mother we take her out? Sort of a goodwill hope-you-feel-better therapy-shopping?
Allah help me, I cannot believe I am volunteering for this. Wait, yes I can. Never mind. :)
Saturdays - hrm, usually Saturdays are my comms duty days. But I'll see if I can trade with Nathan. He's besotted right now, he'll agree to just about anything.
Salaam,
Haroun
Considering they call me the Devil Woman...
Date: 2004-10-07 02:36 am (UTC)Oh man, the shopping trip. You're just full of good ideas tonight, aren't you? You're on. She'll need the change of ideas, though getting her away from Alex might be a challenge.
Or we could always drag him along to keep you company in shopping hell. And make sure we can carry more bags. ;)
Poor Nathan. Everyone picks on him. ...just about anything, huh? That has interesting possibilities.
:)
Alison
Apparently I am
Date: 2004-10-07 02:49 am (UTC)And we can always bring Alex along. I could use some company in my pack-mule status. And the smoking crater that used to be my bank account.
Ah well, it's going to a good cause. I don't need much for myself.
Salaam,
Haroun
You'll have fun...
Date: 2004-10-07 03:34 am (UTC)I'm sure Alex won't mind - if you think Nathan is besotted, wait till you see my roomate and her boyfriend. Not that I'm complaining. Far better this way than with the moping and all.
Alison
