What are you talking about when you talk about having all of this money laying around? How did you come by it? Is that how you could all of a sudden afford to replace all of my broken music? Is Domino bankrolling you?

You know, it's always a bad sign when you use my name when you're emailing me...
*sighs* I was going to tell you on Sunday, when we were out, only I didn't know how. And you were all caught up with that conversation with Emma and then subjects changed and you never asked...
When we were in Istanbul, Domino and Pete took us on a job. Retrieving something that had gotten stolen from a museum and bought by some wealthy wanker in Istanbul. Nothing dangerous - Pete wouldn't have been in for that, you know that - and we got what we went for and everything turned out really well. I even managed to work one of the Asgard spells, which I haven't been able to do before - the unlocking one. It's one of the few times the magic's worked and been useful, and Pete and Dom were so proud of us, not to mention that it was actually kind of fun, even the bits with the running away from security guards. It's why I was in such a good mood when I got back.
The money's payment - reward from the museum. Five hunderd thousand all up, split five ways. Which means that I've got a hundred thousand dollars US sitting in my bank account now, about to be transferred into a trust fund once Pete sorts out the paperwork for me, for school or something, depending on what I want to do when I graduate from here. With a bit of pocket money from the interest.
I know I should have told you, only I've never had anything near like this amount of money before, and I'm all a bit shocked by it myself. Suddenly I don't have to rely on you or Pete or Nate for stuff, I can go out there and do it myself, and that's taking some getting used to. It's like I have an actual future now, one that doesn't involve me taking handouts from people, something which I never thought would happen. And a possible career - I'm _good_ at this sort of thing, and Domino thinks so too, and I'm thinking maybe it's something I could do more of in the future. Nothing that hurts anyone, tho'.
So um, yeah. That's the story.

Date: 2004-10-22 02:18 pm (UTC)I need to know who this person is, so that I can determine if he will be a threat over this whole incident. I need to know _soon_.
I'm sorry I couldn't provide anything you needed for you. I tried, I really did. Seems you don't need it anymore.
Manuel
He does.
Date: 2004-10-23 04:19 am (UTC)If you have any issues about it, talk to Pete.
I've already told you I didn't want you providing for me, remember? I don't have much in the way of pride and honour, according to you, but I have this much - I don't want to have to accept handouts from _anyone_ the rest of my life. I had no idea there was going to be any kind of money involved in this; it was supposed to be good theraputic fun after the shite that's been going on the past few weeks, but I'm not about to hand it back and say "no, sorry, my boyfriend has his nose out of joint because I'm not dependant on him any more".
I'm sorry it bothers you, but that's the way it is.
