I spoke with her about what we discussed the other day. I'm sorry to say that it did not transpire very well, and I suspect she believes that you put me up to it, though I attempted to avoid such in the outcome.
I shall be upstairs with a novel or three, should you be in need of support in the aftermath.

Thanks for the leaning on time last night... I suspect I'm still out of a room, tonight. I don't want to invade Marie's room again so maybe I could crash over your place this shot? I'm hoping to outwait Lorna. But... if my tomorrow or the day after she's still not looking at me without spitting nails, I'm not sure what to do. :(
Hope so. Really hope it helps. I'd hate to have burned my bridges like this and to not even make a difference...

You are, as ever, welcome to the space when you need it. I would imagine by this point we've developed immunity to what the loose-lipped community refers to as 'talk', but even if not, it's hardly the worst one can ever endure. I shall make sure the pillows are well-fluffed and suitable for beating over furry heads, the cocoa is warm and insulated, and the sandwiches apportioned for easy finger-sizes with chocolate-chip calvary in support.
It may take some time, my dear. They say a good deed never goes unpunished, but I prefer to add that no good deed's punishment goes un-recouped in time. It is, unfortunately, part of the healing process-- It may help to remember that this is an intervention. They rarely start smoothly.
