Just a quick email to let you all know the firecracker and I made it to my parents' house in one piece, despite the best efforts of weather and holiday traffic. I may not survive the holiday itself, since Mom has already started with the force-feeding (Haroun, massive amounts of workouts when I get back to burn off all this food), but Jubilee is in her element. I think my sister Carlie has adopted her as a long-lost twin - I can hear them giggling and plotting through the wall as I speak. The world may never survive. *grins*
I have to say it, it's good to be home. Have ao good holiday, all, and I'll see you on Saturday.

Subject: So lonely!
Everyone is gone! Haroun even had the audacity to actually take Nathan out to some something or other sports thing in town!
It is Woe to be me. On the other hand, Hank's just decided I'm being scary and that I was allowed to roam the halls - only at night when it's quiet and all, though. And only for a few hours. Still have to check in every day (or evening, oh night working one) for the exams and all.
Freedom, even if just a little of it, makes me silly.
I'm off to ambush Haroun now, who is still out and will only see this after he's been ambushed. Bwa ha ha.
Alison
ps - Have a great holiday with the family! :)

Consider me ambushed.
But hell, I feel _much_ better. And it's not possible to spoil you too much.
*very firm nod*
Not possible.
Salaam,
Haroun

It was a fun ambush to do. Must remember that for future Evil and Wicked Plans, yes.
Careful - I am a horrible attention hound and happen to believe that there is not such thing as spoiling me too much too... ;)
*approves of that attitude very much*
Alison
ps - it is the silly to be doing this sharing your laptop like that. Heh!

See, this is why Hank in the genius. Since there's no way to make you stay put when you get it into your head to solve the mansion's ills, make a deal that involves you going out during the quiet times. *grins* And I'd even do my humble best to entertain you during those long night shifts, though thank God those are fewer now we're fully staffed.
I get you with the freedom - I ambushed the girls earlier and we had what was possibly the best pillow fight I've had since high school. You should have seen Jubilee, Ali, she was giggling. Like a little kid. It was very good to see. And I have to say I feel better than I have in months; my shoulders are unknotting and everything. *grins*
Have fun with the ambush, see you in a few days.

Hank cheats. He also threatened to throw twinkies at me if he saw me pushing too hard again. The scary twinkies. See how much cheating that is? However, entertainment is good. You may do that. *add in queenly wave of hand here, la*
I talked to Haroun about the therapy btw - I figured when you doctorly lot thought it was time, he'd want to pitch in. And speaking of pillow fights...
Mind if I ambush you on Saturday night when you get back? Girls' Gossip Night or something? I think we could do with something that doesn't involve medical talk or exams, don't you? We're overdue there.
Ambushing is fun. Being waited upon hand and foot is also fun! ;)

The deep-fried ones? Those are to be avoided at all costs. And thank you so much for granting me the boon of entertaining you, your worshipfulness. ;)
Ooh. Oooooh. Girls' Night sounds like fun. I have a cunning plan unfolding already in terms of entertaining your bored self. And yes, it's been forever since we've done anything like that - I have to admit, I miss our email chats when i can't sleep. As soon as I've had a chance to unkink myself after four hours' driving, consider me on your doorstep, with said plan.
See, I'm being waited on hand and foot too. Only it's my mother doing it, so I don't think it counts. She just knocked on the door to tell me I really should be getting some sleep and do I want another blanket? *grins* She's such a Mom, my Mom.

To be avoided like the plague, in a running away screaming and flailing one's arms madly in the process while acquired said massive amounts of distance for the sole purpose to ensure one's safety and continued existence. And you're quite welcome. We feel generous today. *g*
Cunning plans to entertain me are good! Very good! I miss the emails too, but then again seems like we're making a wee attempt at returning that to normal now. (Except your mother sent you to bed, so I'm not getting a reply soon. ;) )
The Pillow will have to be informed of this of course & temporarily banished from Our Presence.
...huh. That kinda sorta sounds like what I say to Miles when he gets a new book and starts reading it in the evenings. Hrm.

Lots of good - slept like the dead last night and I'm about to go help Mom with Thanksgiving dinner. As always, she's got enough food to feed an army, but I know she'll donate anything leftover and non-perishable to the local homeless shelter.
How're things in the madhouse? It occurs to me you're not exactly a Thanksgiving type, given you're German. Is the whole thing completely incomprehensible to you? Or just a good excuse for everyone to relax and possibly eat too much? ;)

Date: 2004-11-25 09:54 am (UTC)Thanksgiving seems a fine holiday to me. It is true we do not celebrate it at home, but the reasons behind it are worthy ones. And, of course, the relaxation and overeating play an important part. ;)
