Hey, Captain,
I caught Alex's post about the finding of your grandparents, and noted the silence from you. How're you doing? It's probably a bit of a shock, I know. If you need to talk about it, I'm on night duty (having forcibly removed Moira from medlab). Jubilee's passed out on my office couch, but the sedative I gave her should keep her out for the rest of the night.

I spoke to Moira about your reversal of fortunes, and she said it might have been some bleed-over from whatever it was Amanda and Nathan were doing. She was rather vague on the details of the whole incident, really, but I'm supposing there's reasons for that and I'm not about to push.
Any way, how are you doing? Racking yourself with guilt over the whole thing, if I know you. Come talk to me when you can stay awake for longer than five minutes? For one, I want to discuss the subject of Amanda and her healing magic, and that plot you were mulling over - the fact her teacher felt the need to stop her accessing her magic doesn't speak well of his opinion of us, and that's something that needs to be addressed.
Besides, I owe you a hug. A big one. And possibly thwapping with a pillow.
Maddie.

Date: 2004-12-17 02:56 pm (UTC)How about breakfast? I actually wound up sleeping through the night... yeah, it came as a shock to me, too, especially given the 'shock' yesterday. I say 'shock' because 'thunderbolt right out of the blue knocking me flat on my ass' would probably be a better description.
Arrangments for Christmas are all made, though. Alex was pretty insistent that we get things straightened out as soon as possible.

Date: 2004-12-18 12:09 am (UTC)I never say no to breakfast. *grins* Even if there's no sugar involved. And yes, I figured the news had come rather suddenly, judging from the stunned silence on your end, and the repeated 'dudes' on Alex's.
My suite or yours?

Did you hear? Did you? We pushed the amps and damn Forge did a good job on 'em and I couldn't have played that way if it weren't for the news you gave about Cain earlier because boy was I happy and also it was LOUD! No problems with loud! I may keel over any minute but oooh boy I'm bouncing around madly now. Madly I tell you!
Amanda. Medlab and healing magic. Oh yes. I think what happened will only make the point even more at that - you know, the one person who will actually need to be convinced about this will be Amanda herself. Everyone else will agree that cutting down her use in the medlab to essentials is a Good Thing except possibly herself. Well. She'll probably be relieved at not ending up running on empty all the time, at that.
I WILL BRING DOWN THE PILLOW! If I get a hug too. Order in which either happen I am flexible about.

Subject: They could hear it on the other side of the country...

Brilliant choice of song, by the way. And I can't tell you how good it was to hear. Really.
Yes, that's going to be the problem - I think Moira and you have the best chance of getting through to her. Nate's a terrible example of not over-exerting yourself. *wry grin* And I really think she's forgotten what it's like to not be running on empty? The last time she wasn't was when she was getting that source on the sly, and that didn't end well. So I'm thinking she might also be afraid of letting herself not be exhausted all the time.
The thwapping might turn into a hug, or vice versa. Either is good, since I can do it now. *beams*

Subject: Just the country? Damn, not loud enough!

Heh heh heh! Thank you. I don't think Forge has clued in yet to which one it was. He's making that kind of music his study material for the next music term though - music was deemed more interesting than taking Spanish again. ;)
There are Ways to get to Amanda. Probably not a bad idea to all agree on a general "no overdoing it" rule and then we can talk to her about it and about the fact that she already has a place here and not doing this is just fine and in fact we kinda insist. Only more articulate and stuff. ;)
Both might be something of a challenge! ;D And YES YOU CAN!
