Salut,
Just a bit of a warning. I have to go down New Orleans next week to repay a debt I owe over Marie-Ange's little mental theater of Death last November. Tante Mattie has made the offer for her to come down with me, in order to fix the issues with her Sight. As well, Amanda is going to tag along to get a bit of magical instruction from someone that isn't a sheltered mage. Both of the girls have agreed, so we'll be leaving right after the Columbia memorial next week, and will be back around the start of Mardi Gras.
About the memorial, I've done a little preliminary checking. Despite the high profile, it doesn't seem like anyone is making hints about hitting it other than the normal lager-courage FoH bottomfeeder, so it should be fairly secure. I'm going to be doing perimeter duty during it, but without telling the students. No sense getting them worried.

But then you wouldn't know what Carmella is planning to make Conner do, especially after he chose Michelle over her. I know that you've been watching, homme, and despite TiVO calling me a bloody git every other minute, it will keep recording for you.

Date: 2005-01-20 05:51 pm (UTC)We do have a Mistra source, and much as some of you believe that I shouldn't be talking to the man, why don't I? Just to see if he's heard anything we need to know about. Given that it was a total surprise in the first place six months ago.

Date: 2005-01-20 08:19 pm (UTC)You know I could get MacInnis to tell me if there was anything we needed to know about Monday. If I'm not mistaken, he still wants something from me.

Date: 2005-01-20 08:29 pm (UTC)Not about Monday specifically but he doesn't know what Amanda is planning to do on Monday. Mistra doesn't either. As LeBeau pointed out, why broadcast it? Do you really want to give him that kind of information on a silver platter?
Subject: what the HELL?
Date: 2005-01-20 08:37 pm (UTC)Never mind. Just... never mind. I won't do anything, since no one trusts me to do anything when the M-word gets dropped. Either of them.
I have a class to teach.

Date: 2005-01-21 07:59 am (UTC)I've had a word with a couple of old contacts, and there's nothing specific flagged for Monday. There will be a pretty strong law enforcement presence, both uniformed and plainclothes. And Fred's sending a few agents to blend with the crowd, especially if there's going to be an FoH contingent as is looking likely. Like Remy said, bottom feeders mostly - the PR arm of the organisation, looking for a media opportunity, and thus very unlikely to cause trouble.
Like I said in my journal, I'll be going along as well - that does mean the medlab will be unattended for the afternoon, but I'll be prepping it before I go in case of trouble and Kurt can easily come grab me if a medic is needed - I'm smaller to 'port than Hank. *grins*
I probably should tell you I'll be armed. My younger sister is going to be there, and if there's trouble it's best I'm ready to react as Agent Bartlet instead of Doctor Bartlet. I know you won't agree with that, Captain, but I'm not budging on this one. Besides, it's not like I'm about to go Dirty Harry on you.

Date: 2005-01-21 08:10 am (UTC)Oui. Because that will help a lot. A doctor with a dodgy shot waving around a firearm in a crisis situation. How about Remy get you a flamethrower, just in case the panic isn't at its highest level if something happens?

Date: 2005-01-21 08:19 am (UTC)If we can all manage to calm down for ten bloody minutes...
Date: 2005-01-22 01:34 am (UTC)I'm not happy about it, but I wouldn't have OKed Amanda doing this if I didn't think she'd be as safe as she could be. I'm going to be no further than ten feet from her at any point, and she knows what do do if I yell.
Remy: Do not taunt the happy fun ball. Or, indeed, the doctors. Especially not the ones who are a better shot than I am. Because they will shoot you, then use the refigerated instruments. You do not want to give them both the desire and the excuse to take your temperature with the "special" thermometer, that's all I'm saying.
Al: I've got the first round of additions and confirmations for those files in. No big shocks - I'll update the copies on the server when I get ten minutes.

Re: Remy
One day, he will be in the medlad and very cold instruments will be poking at him. I will point and mock. Ha ha ha.
Re: Files
Oooh. More files. Files are good. I'll go look for those now. Thank you Mr. Putting More Files In The Database Sir!

Date: 2005-01-22 10:56 am (UTC)Understand: my Dad has actually proved several completely hatstand conspiracy theories and my sister is dating a ghost.
So when I say that you are a very strange woman, it really means something.
