.... if you were expecting to hear from Nate today and don't. He had rather a rough training session this morning - which I will let him tell you about - and I suspect he hasn't been sleeping well. The combination left him absolutely exhausted and quite unable to argue coherently, so once I'd tended his bumps and bruises, I popped him into the Box, gave him a nice sedative, and confidently expect him to sleep for at least the next ten to twelve hours. He'll feel much better for a good, dreamless sleep, I'm sure.
I also think I may have startled him quite a bit... he was being very small and sad and pitiful, as he is when he's too overtired to keep his guard up, and since you weren't here, I administered a hug and some reassurance. I think it came as a bit of a shock. Still, someone had to do it.
Take care of yourself, my dear, and eat lots of nourishing haggis. ;)

Henry,
Seems like she will make a great mom some day, then. *grins* Is already practising for it, it would seem.
Ooo, extra fluffiness, for me? I'm honored, kind sir.
Ah, Wilbur Wallace. Very charming, very hard to forget. Scary at chess, if I remember correctly. And you did make him realize that the squid is going to come back...changed, yes? Just make sure Forge does not put any lasers on there and I think it'll be fine.
I've always been envious of the catnapping ability. Thank God there's three of us in the Medlab, we can all look out for each other.
Little MacTaggart is doing just fine. He/she is _hungry_ apparently but doing just fine. I'm assuming all the tests from after the...incident on Muir have come back okay?

She will indeed... she still lacks confidence, in some ways, but she's settling in, I think. Since she doesn't like the idea of taking drugs - and I can't say I blame her - I've started her on a course of St John's Wort and valerian tea. *g* Some of our colleagues would be horrified, I know, but when the natural remedies work, why not use them?
Wilbur is, indeed, hard to forget... he'll probably visit at some point. He wants to meet Forge. (Forge is probably going to just about die of the thrill, which will be positively adorable) And I have made it clear to Forge that the squid must be returned unaltered... however, Wilbur does want to see what he comes up with. *g* This is my cunning ploy to make him start doing proper documentation. He's not allowed to build it, but he can draw a picture.
Indeed, and the two of us still in the medlab miss you. *cyberhugs* You must come back soon, so we can fuss over you and make you sleep.
All the tests are fine, naturally, or I would have let you know sooner. The baby's a shade smaller than the average for the gestational period, still, but well within normal parameters.

Henry,
Good, I know she was a bit skittish before. Not that I could blame her. I really do need to sit down with her when I'm back, all things considering. And whatever works, correct? From Amanda's stash?
Oh my. Wilbur and Forge in the same room? I'm not sure who would attempt to adopt whom.
And that's an excellent idea. Forge is all about building and putting together--no documentation to speak of simply because it is in his head. Brilliant young man, though I'm glad he's getting exposed to being social.
*cyberhugs back* I miss you both as well. Especially now--I love my labs here but they're simply not the same. Not without the packages of twinkies hidden everywhere or the loving threats between all of us.
As soon as I have someone to replace Rory and have him or her trained to what I want them to do, then I will be home. I promise.
I know but I still worry. A lot. And--that is not surprising. Kevin was a rather small baby during the actual terms. Wasn't sure if it was his mutation but it may just be that this is normal for me.

Date: 2005-01-26 01:05 am (UTC)Wilbur is going to be very impressed, I think... and I know Forge will be. But he's *my* student, and he's going to bring glory to *my* name, and Wilbur may not have him. *g* He's a good kid, if still a little shy.
We miss you very much, and I've hidden some treats around your office for you to find when you get home, just to welcome you back. We must replace Rory soon.
And don't worry about the baby... the average is the average because 50% of all babies, on average, are smaller than that, after all. Or you may have concieved a little later than we thought, which would also explain it.
And I'm off to my nap. Take care, my dear...
Hank
