I didn't get a chance to ping you with this earlier, but I thought I'd better let you know Haroun's back is not in the best shape. I'm clearing him to finish active duty, but he shouldn't be doing any heavy sparring or training for the next week or so. We've agreed that he'll be using next week as actual downtime and giving himself a chance to heal, but I wanted you both to know not to let him overdo things. Ping me if you have any questions.

Saw it was bothering him a few days ago after a training session, but it seemed better in the morning so I didn't push the matter. I did figure he was due for a full medical evaluation soon and - right, no excuse.
I took the therapeutic massage course we had here at the school, oh, ages ago. Think that'd help him with the tension and all? And hey, if pushing that a bit further in terms of learning would be of use, I can always do that too...
Overcompensatingly yours,

Hey, this is Haroun's fault, plain and simple - he's been carrying the injury for a while and was doing very well at covering it up. I only found out yesterday because I got in a kidney punch and nearly dropped him with it. We've agreed he's going to let Hank give him the full workover once he's off active duty, biologicals and hardware combined. Well, it was more me insisting and him reluctantly agreeing.
Massage would be good, at least for the muscle surrounding the actual strain - massaging the strain itself would be not a good idea. Come down and I'll show you where the ouchy places are and where the okay parts are. And there's never anything wrong with increasing your skills base - any time you want someone to practice what you're learning on, you know where to find an incredibly tense set of doctorly shoulders... *hint hint*

Gah. Kidney punch? Considering what his back felt like to me a few days ago, that really must've hurt. I seriously doubt he'll put up a fuss now that he's agreed to the full eval, but if he does, let me know?
I'll wander over down for breakfast, what do you say? And you can show me on his medchart, because I'm still getting used to the way his muscles were rerouted and I'd rather not take any risks there... and I do believe I'll look into classes of some sort to further along the massage skills then. Huh. Wonder if I should just get some sort of certification while I'm at it? What do you think?
Hint? Hrm? What hint? *wide-eyed innocence*

It was a fairly soft punch, as punches go - I know he has back issues, so I don't go all-out there. Which is what tipped me off; a tap like I gave him he barely notices, usually. Still, if it's any consolation I've got a nice bruise on my shoulder from making my point with a very pointy finger.
Breakfast and medcharts sounds good. I'll be dragging him in for ultrasound treatment daily as well, and he'll appreciate the rub down afterwards. And much better you than me - I think he'll enjoy a little bit of pampering from you, no matter how stoic a tough guy he is. ;)
*pouts* That hint. The big obvious one.

No, no consolation. Bruises suck. I hate 'em. Avoid them like the plague all I can too. Though... have to admit, things still aren't to what they were before. Not that I mind not being as much of a wuss as I was before about pain but still. The small things throw you off sometimes I guess, huh?
I think it'll be something fruity tomorrow morning. I feel like fruit. Do you feel like fruit? Fruit is good.
*sigh* I'm a fruitcake.
Anyway. Am off to see him now, in fact. Will answer later when he's out like a light, though. :)
*ponders* Big obvious hint? Hrm. Nope, don't get it. Am a doofus, see. *wise nod*

Well, to be fair on Haroun, I did poke him right in the sore spot and he reacted instinctively. But he was being a doofus. And the bruise isn't a bad one - I put some ice on it after I was done with him, and it's hardly stuff at all. Just pretty colours, since pale skin means the bruises show. :P
And as long as you keep the pain thing in mind - stuff you do feel is going to be worse than it used to be, so no ignoring it 'cause it doesn't seem bad, okay?
I need more fruit in my life, and possibly less chocolate. Still, all our training is getting me nicely back in shape - I'll be able to flee from Hank the next time I pull a prank on him quite well... So yes, fruit away, you fruitcake you.
No rush on the answering. I'm guessing that you'll be taking advantage of your space heater, so snooze away and I'll see you in the morning. With fruit, even.
*sighs melodramatically* Woe is me, for I am a poor neglected doctor whose hints are completely missed...
Maddie.
