Hank,

Have you finished crunching those test results for Haroun yet? He's been down for filtering twice today, and was in a mess the second time. There's definitely something up there, and we really need to be doing something soon, otherwise he could hurt someone, or himself.

And speaking of uncharacteristic behaviour... Are you okay? I heard you yelling at Jay this morning, which wasn't what I meant by 'a talk' at all, by the way. And that post to the journal... I agree Amanda needs watching as far as what magic she uses and how often, but did you even talk to her before laying down the law like that? Or to Pete? God knows Amanda and I don't get on, but coming across like that? Really doesn't work.

Yes, yes, I know I overreacted... and for the dozenth time, I did not forbid Amanda to use her magic! I forbade the other students to use it! And frankly, I find the outraged response to orders not to kill a fellow student rather disturbing.

Haroun's test results are attached. I've been a little distracted, lately, I'm sorry.

Calm down, Hank. I'm on your side here - yes, if Amanda can't make those choices then she needs someone to guide her. I'm just not sure that post was the answer.

Hank... these results... The data's all fine, but this analysis doesn't make any sense. And I can barely read what you meant to say, given the spelling errors and such. What's going on? I know you've been tired lately, but this goes beyond tired.

Got something to tell me?

I'm not fine. *sigh* I've been tired, and irritable, and overreacting a lot as I'm sure you noticd. And I've been using the spell-check. I've never had to do that before. And I've been feeling... off... for a while now. It wasn't too bad at first, I just thought I was tired, but.. maybe it's mor than that.

I'd been noticing you were off, even since that Mistra mission. I think the best thing here is to take you off medlab duty for the next day or two, and I'll run the whole gamut of tests on you. Whatever this is, if it's medical, we'll find it.

Don't worry about Haroun's test results - I'll get Forge to help me with the analysis and have it ready for him tomorrow morning.

*hugs* You go get some rest, Hank. Don't worry, I've got things under control, and we'll sort this out.

I suppose that is for the best. I'll be in my room, trying not to murder any selfish, whining students. Who think Amanda's personal freedom should entitle her to the demands of anyone who wants someting from her, no matter how uncomortable it might make her.

They're teenagers, Hank. Selfish and whining comes with the territory. If it helps, I think this fuss will make Amanda think twice before she agrees to do something too much for her. If only for the sake of peace.

I'll come up in a while and check on you. With some of Moira's nice soothing tea.

Before I forget, Jay has been ordered to present himself in the Medlab tomorrow morning to clean every wall, floor, ceiling, flat surface and bedpan, as due punishment for knowingly endangering another student. (He did know it was dangerous - she warned him) Don't let him talk, whine, or sulk his way out of it, please. He has to deal with the cosneqences of his actions.

Okay, now I know something's wrong. It's not like you to punish a student like that, especially for something that possibly might have had a reason. If threatening the students with scalpels wasn't enough. I won't let him out of it, but I will be making sure he's had a chance to talk to Leonard about all this as well - I've read his medical file again, Hank, and there's some pretty significant personal trauma in his recent past. Perhaps enough to justify his recent actions.

I'll be right up. Turn off your computer for the night, okay? It's not helping you at all, and you're worrying me.

I don't care what reason he had. Losing one person you care for is no reason to risk the life of someone else you don't care about at all... and something he said made me think that was why he did whatever it was.

Computer going off now. I'm going to go read for a while.
