Wanda,
I hope you've recovered from your indenture here at Columbia, particularly that couch in Agnes' office - you really should have let me know you were stuck in town, by the way. However, it was a pleasure to see more of you.
Which leads me to the request I have to make of you. I've been given two tickets to the New York Philharmonic, for a concert playing this Saturday evening, and I was wondering if perhaps you would accompany me? The show isn't until later in the evening, and I thought perhaps we could have dinner first or something. If it's convenient to you, of course, but I would very much like it if you would accept.
Regards,
Steven.

Stephen,
Thankfully, I have. Agnes has set me free--I believe I need a list of professors' to watch out for in the future. She's sneaky, that one is. And I wasn't expecting to camp out in her office, her students simply would not leave me alone.
...I would love to go. It most certainly is not inconvenient. I haven't been to anything like this in ages. Thank you. And dinner before hand sounds lovely.
Sincerely,
~W.
