Hey.

So, a little bird with enough cash to buy and sell me, like, a billion times over tells me I should e-mail you. Who am I to say no to a guy like that? Nobody, that's who. So, this is me, Beth, saying "hey", just like he asked.

He said you were interested in Jamie's thing, but not up to coming to the actual face-to-face meetings. He didn't go into the gorey details, just that you've had a little bit of trouble with some punks in town, so I can totally understand not wanting to come out. There are some real assholes out here - I've gone home with my fair share of bruises and broken noses, thanks to them. It's not a "grr, mutant, must maim" thing with me, though.. it's a "grr, girls shouldn't skateboard, show her why" thing, though how they make the "girls don't skateboard - kick her ass" connection is waaaay beyond my scope of logic.

Er, sorry. Tangent. I do that. Ramble, and tangent.

We should probably start with the get-to-know-you stuff, huh? Well.. as you've gathered, I hope, I skateboard. My brother got me into it a couple years ago, before he went off to NYU to do more of that 'school' thing. I don't need to worry about that crap until next year at the earliest, thank God. I don't know if I can take more school, but you know, mom'll give me the Evil Eye if I don't. Boo.

Anyway.. your turn? I've probably rambled on long enough for a while.

I'll hold you to it. I'm very stubborn about holding people to their word. (Possibly why Shinobi sent you to me - sneaky hobbitses.)

Almodovar? Nuh-uh, I don't think I've seen any. Maybe when you feel up to getting out of that big pretty school of yours, we can watch some? Either that, or we could just both be dirty, dirty pirates, download the same copy (copies?), and watch it while we talk via IM or something. I'd suggest the phone, but I'm told my accent gets a little thick when I'm not keeping track of it. Usually not a problem, but not all of my friends can speak Bronx-ese.

It probably is, actually. Well, he's probably right - I've been told I don't leave the school enough.

And that sounds good - I'm sure somewhere in the city has to have a movie festival at some point, or if not, downloading works too. You have to see Almodovar's movies. Antonio Banderas is in some of them, if that makes them any more interesting for you...

Film festivals abound in the city, dude. You totally don't get out enough. When you're up for it, you and me (and anybody else you want to drag along), Central Park. I'll give you the nickle tour. Even foot the bills for cabs and stuff.

Well, it's mainly going out in groups that could be easily outnumbered that's my problem. Three or four of us should be okay. So, maybe - you, me, my girl Paige and if there's anyone you wanna bring, them too, or I'm sure we could drag Shinobi into it (although that might involve his girlfriend coming along as well, but that's cool). And you don't have to foot the whole bill, I do get an allowance, so we could split it or something?

I'd suggest doing it over Spring Break, but Shinobi said something about a trip to London (I am wicked jealous here), so.. how about when you get back? We'll snag a Saturday or something and go enjoy ourselves.
