I put the little guy to bed around eleven, he's still sound asleep. No noise from the house all night, so I assume everything's calmed down? Anyway, Miles behaved himself well, other than having a minor upset stomach. I tried to tell him "only one Eskimo Pie after dinner" but you try saying no to those puppy dog eyes he does. Anyway, he fell asleep in the middle of Seabiscuit, so I put him on the couch. For having almost no nose whatsoever, I can't figure out how he can snore so loudly.
Anyway, before he turned in, he helped me put the last coat of varnish on the coffee table, so I promised him I'd take him out to go see a movie. Think once this whole thing blows over, you'd be up for me taking you and the little guy out to dinner and a movie? My treat. I know you've both got to use those image inducers in public, so let me foot the bill for the hassle, whaddya say?
Whoops, looks like the little guy's up and mobile. Time to see if I remember how to make pancakes. Just drop by whenever, we'll be here.

He's so resilient it awes me. For now, as long as I know he's with you, I know he'll be about as safe as can be. Scott just made the announcement about Betsy...
When everything is settled down and we have Betsy back (somehow)... I'd love to take you up on that. I'll drop by soon to check up on him (and replenish the Eskimo Pie stock).

He's doing fine. Apparently the cable out here gets Nickelodeon, and he's been keeping himself occupied there. His arm looks fine, he'll have a bruise, but it doesn't look like it bothers him too much.
Quick question - if Betsy can get into peoples' heads like Chuck, how do I know she's not controlling you if you come to the door? Would Miles cancel that out? I don't want the kid to be in harm's way, but I've never trusted telepaths.

... no, just a bruise probably wouldn't bother him at all ...
Geh. Good point. Damn. Miles' power only has a five foot range (he had a larger range once we think, but that was during the attack and he's fuzzy on what happenned or how there) and we haven't quite got the hang of controlling it yet. So unless Betsy is in range, he can't null her. But.Charles would sense her on the grounds now and he's watching for her to boot. And Betsy (... or whoever she is) can't match Charles.
Wait. Ok, I've just been set on active team duty. I'm not coming over.
I'll ask Charles to bridge me to Miles telepathically in a bit just to let him know it's ok, so don't be surprised if Miles goes blank. I'll be telling him to stay with you for a bit longer too, so you know.
Thank you. I can't say that enough.

Not a problem. Do what you have to do. If she comes here for him, she'll regret it. I promise you that.
