Just a quick note to update you on the latest data from the taskforce. I'm heading to DC tomorrow morning at a very ungodly hour, and I'll be rendezvousing with you on Saturday at the airforce base.

I'm heading out early in the morning to join the taskforce, but I wanted to touch base before I went to bed. Given what's happening on Saturday, I'm thinking it'll be a good call to bring Jean back to active doctor status, since even with the best-case scenario, we're going to have some injuries. Perhaps run her through her paces Friday, see how she goes?

Also, Hank, can you post to x_medical before you leave on Saturday, letting the helpers know what's going on and putting them on alert? Probably best to remind them about the 'don't talk about medlab' rule too.

I'm taking it with me - I'm driving to new York to FBI headquarters there, and Fred and I are being flown by helicopter onto Washington from there. He's not joining us on this jaunt, but he's got some follow-up stuff on the whole recruitment angle to go over, and it's easier when everyone's in the same room. So no worrying about airport security. *wry grin*

Keep an eye on Jubes for me? I spoke to her tonight about things, no details, just that Mistra was involved and that most of the team would be gone. She took it a lot better this time, but I know she's terrified of losing her people again. Mind you, I wouldn't be happy about losing myself either. ;)

Good. I'm glad you'll have it with you. If you wind up having to use the tranquillizers on intransigent government officials, there'll be spares on the 'bird. Along with everything else we might possibly need that I can find places for. (Packing medical supplies would be so much easier if there were only baseline human metaboli to worry about)

And you are definitely not to be lost. I will be doing a head-and-major-limb count afterwards, and any lost pieces will have to be accounted for. And... well, I'm not sure if I'll be able to reassure her, but I'll try. I'll promise to look out for you, if it will make her feel better, on the understanding that you'll be looking out for my big furry butt as well. Between all of us, we ought to all be able to look out for each other, don't you think?

Don't tempt me with the tranqs. Some of these bastards would happily approach Mistra for a deal, I almost think. Luckily they're outnumbered by the rest of us. And pointing out alienating MacInnis and the X-Men would be a really stupid tactical move helps too.

No losing and plenty of butt covering. Don't worry about me, I'll be sticking to the evac area unless there's a major emergency. You look after yourself, please? I won't be able to watch your back if you're out in the field and I'm not.
