I've been liasing with the taskforce all week, and I have some numbers which may put some perspective on things:

53 children rescued, 28 of which have been reunited with their families so far. The rest are in care until they can be suitably placed, with help from Interpol for the ones who came from outside the
US. They'll all be getting counselling and treatment.

7 surviving first-gens - Nash, Piers, Cole, Matsuda, Lense, and two others who weren't on the Canadian mission, Taylor and Chang.

28 surviving second-gens out of the original 47. Six are in critical condition from their injuries, as they all took an awful lot of punishment. Nine have poor prognoses for telepathic therapy, thirteen have middling-to-good prognoses.

Out of the 50-60 taskforce troops 13 are dead, 24 are injured.

MacInnis' second-gens 10 died and only 2 survived (Elliott and Clarissa), mostly because they were priority targets. 14 of his other 25 non-former-operatives he brought in with him survived.

3 directors, including Ruiz, were taken into custody, and 62 other assorted Mistra personnel were taken prisoner and removed from the island. They're now being questioned about Mistra's operations and considering the use of the trigger that was designed to wipe all trace of Mistra from Youra whilst Ruiz escaped, they're proving co-operative. The few operations that weren't moved to Youra are being addressed now.

I know there are some of the team wondering about news on particular people, so hopefully this helps.

Madelyn.

I've got some news on the man you fought with at Youra. His name is Goran Radonic and he's one of the surviving second gens - apparently his head was a lot harder than either of us thought, and he has a healing factor which kept him alive and partially blocked the trigger. Which was why he wasn't acting the same as the others. He's currently in a military hospital under guard, but his prognosis is pretty good - there's a good chance he'll recover a good part of his original personality with psionic therapy since he wasn't under its influence as totally as the others.

I hope that helps. I'm going to Washington next week to do my debriefing and check on some things, including the treatment of the Mistra personelle that were captured. If you want to go with me and confirm for yourself that he's fine, let me know and I'll wrangle it.

You're not a killer, Kurt.

Maddie.

Thanks, Madelyn. Perspective indeed... I think I'll try and focus on that first number, there. That's very good news, especially about how many of them have been reunited with their families already.

I hadn't realized MacInnis' losses were so heavy. He's planning to be here on Friday - don't know if that news had trickled through from the taskforce yet, since I gather he's been spending most of his time since the weekend in debriefing.

Subject: Would it be...

...possible to know a bit more about the progress, of both the kids and the Mistra personel, as time goes? Just small reports or something. Well - I'd ask for full access, just to know but I don't know if that's possible. But knowing would be good.

Very good.
