Can I take you up on that offer for the numbers as well? I didn't want to say on the journals, but I'm trying to avoid anyone Paige considers a mate in case she accuses me of using my arcane powers of popularity on them to steal them away from her. So no asking Kitty for help - it's just not worth the hassle.
You, on the other hand, are already contaminated by the fact you're my roomie's boyfriend. Besides, I really do need help with Arabic - al Rashid's being a right bastard with these pop quizzes lately and I know the finals going to be awful. His teaching more than my learning, but you know me and the language thing - it'd be like you flunking computers or something. Point of pride. ;)
Cheers,
Amanda.

Arcane powers of...huh? Okay, there's something going on here that I'm not understanding, but that's okay. I mean, Paige and I are sort of friends, but she's been...distant, lately. Touchy, too.
And Kitty and Paige have their little 'girly genius' thing going on, it's true. I ask you, is it MY fault I have a Y chromosome and am thus ineligible for membership? I'd say I blame my father, but that sounds so very teenage angst, and it's not really my thing.
Okay, that was a feeble attempt to make you smile.
Yes, that's your cue to smile.
Yes, I know I'm not nearly as funny as I think I am.
Mr. al-Rashid's kind of a right bastard, period. But you didn't hear me say that. ;-) So yeah, Arabic and math both. I think I can handle that.

Subject: Long story

Yeah, well, it's a long story and I don't want to go into it, but it's enough to say that I found out some stuff that I wish had been said a lot earlier than it had and from now on I'm keeping my distance to make sure bits stay attached and unbroken.
You got a snort rather than a smile, but that's something, isn't it?
You're a life saver. It'd be nice to actually pass high school at some point. I mean, there's a good chance I'll end up working with Dom and the Pack or something when I leave school, but I'd like to actually have a choice about it. Not end up doing it because there wasn't anything else I could do because I didn't have that bit of paper. Tho' some days it doesn't seem bloody likely.
