Subject: new possible trainee

Jubilee has asked me again about training for the team. I think we can all agree she has made progress over the last several months, but that trainee status would demand considerably more of her. I suggested to her that she write down her reasons for wanting this, so that she could get them sorted out in her head if nothing else and I've attached the subsequent essay. It makes for interesting reading.

I should also mention that Hank is convinced this would be good for her. His perspective's valuable in that he has her interests in mind, first and foremost, although I don't think we can afford to make that our priority. In terms of my own opinion on the matter... it probably wouldn't hurt to let her try. I think. I hope. Training standards are training standards; she'd be no different than any other trainee in what expectations we place upon her. I imagine it would become clear very quickly if she can handle it or not.

So. Thoughts? Do we do this? Hank was trying to point out to me that letting her train doesn't mean letting her anywhere near the team anytime soon. Which is a good point, and I suppose that even if this doesn't work out, the training's not going to be wasted. Hopefully.

Damn it. Have I mentioned how glad I am that I don't make these decisions alone? Because I'm having a hell of a time with this one, for some reason, and I don't think it actually has much to do with Jubilee herself.
