Emails to the dance students; to Clarice

I am sorry to have left so suddenly, and with so little warning - I have been called away to attend to a family emergency at home. Ms. Blaire will be teaching your classes until further notice.

...to say that I wish you all the best with all you wish to do - dance, fencing, medicine, anything else you may choose. I am not quite sure at this stage when, and perhaps if, I will be returning permanently to the school, but I did not wish to leave without saying goodbye and making sure you know how proud I have been of you. You have made great progress, and you should not let anyone tell you otherwise.
Be well, Clarice.

...you sound like you're not coming back?! you can't leave Coach. there's too much to do and we need a fencing coach! *I* need a coach if I want to ever get to a tournement! that sounds so self-centered, doesn't it? My point is, you're more than just a teacher and you can't leave because I'll miss you. there goes my self-centeredness again, but it's true. you can go, but you gotta come back.
