Emails from Carlie to Jubilee and Kurt

And you didn't tell me! Think I'll go and be all offended and stuff. *pouts*
Back, being offended is boring. Any way, Mad told me on the phone about Certain Developments, but she didn't give me details, dammit? Tell me you have some? You talk to her during night shift a lot, I know you do, and that's the time she's most likely to talk. Defences are at their weakest, and all the rest of it. So, what's she said about Hank? Have they done any date-like stuff, or are they being all cautious? Though with Kurt involved, yeah, it's probably a bit rude to rub his nose in it. Poor Kurt. He seemed like a really nice guy when I met him - possibly too nice for Mad, she needs someone who'll stand up to her when she's on the bossy streak she gets. But still very nice, and kind of cute and all...
Think he'll mind if I email him? *eg* Actually, I don't care whether he does or not, think I"ll do it any way. He could probably do with some cheering up.
So, tell me what's going on with you and Forge and Clarice and everyone else? Any more run ins with the Wicked Witch of Brighton? I'm done with exams, and bored. Trying to make plans for summer that don't involve being stuck at home - think you guys could handle me visiting again? Unless you have plans yourself, that is...
Carls.

But I've never been one to sit back and not do something just because it's not 'proper'. Any way, I thought I'd make good mythreat promise to randomly email my favourite Xavier's people and say hi, see how things were going. From what I've heard, it sounds like you've been busy - trips to Germany and little furry orphans and the like. I've always wanted to travel, I think that's one of the reasons why I'm leaning more towards the journalism now. I can see me as a political correspondent in some far-off corner of the world, can't you? *grins*
I've just finished finals - I did pretty well, I think - and I'm trying to make plans for the summer. I'm definitely thinking of a visit to Xavier's again, if you'll have me. Ten days wasn't long enough last time, and there's a lot of catching up to do with Jubes and the rest. Maybe we can have lunch or something while I'm there? You could tell me all about travelling with the circus, since you didn't get to last time what with me being Jubes' hands and having to flee. And I can be horribly boring and normal at you? *grins*
Any way, I'm babbling at you now. First emails are always really hard, since you don't know what exactly to say. Replies are much easier, since there's questions and topics of conversation and the rest. I could always do one of those online meme things and ask you about your favourite colour and which historical figure you'd want to have breakfast with, and all that, but I only tend to bring those out when the conversation's falling flat. And this one hasn't had a chance to do that yet.
So, reply? Engage in conversation? Otherwise I'll have to start asking you those weird questions and seem even more strange than I already do. *grins*

Subject:Oops.
Gah! Dude, so sorry. I've been totally snowed under with study right now. Masses and masses of study and I'm not even contemplating college right now. (Not so much with the not going ever, just totally not thinking about it till months after I finish the highschool stuff. Need time to recover.)
But yeah, Mads and Big Blue. Didn't really surprise me, cause I could kinda see he was in love with her. Just sucks about Kurt. He's the strong, silent type definitely and seriously think that would have driven Mads up the wall after a bit. Of course you should e-mail him, Dude.
Anyway, details. Looks like the boys finally decided to stop doing the 'Gazing with fond adoration from on far' and actually tell Mads that they had the hots for her in the doves and candy love hearts kinda way. Which she totally had no idea about because she's seriously clueless as to her own hotness. (Okay, this appears to be a terminal condition with some of the female staff around here. Lorna is totally the same way, although she has a boyfriend so at least she can't convince herself that she's not hot or something.)
And Gah, if it weren't for the fact that I totally sucked in a huge, massive and extremely traumatising way at the relationship front I might have a boyfriend now. Although, having said that, study and everythings kinda keeping me too busy to really care.
Right, back to Mads. She decided on Hank and then had to break the news to Kurt and was well on the way to convincing herself that she was a complete witch. Which thankfully she seems to have gotten over.
Don't know anything on the date front though. Haven't wanted to ask in case I tread on 'new relationship' toes or something. What the hell is the etiquate for that anyhow? I usually ask Hank these things but that'd be kinda awkward. Like I can totally see myself going up to him and saying 'So, Dude. Is it like seriously rude for me to be asking you what you and Mads have been doin'? Totally want details. Enquiring minds want to know and all that.'
So, yeah. This is getting long, ain't it? But I'm seriously socially stunted after all this study. Need chatty time.
You are so coming up for the summer by the way. Heck, I may even drive up and come get you myself. (Hank has been making noises about letting me borrow his car if I get good grades, so I'm seriously taking advantage of it.)
Let's see, other stuff. Mandy and I are getting on, which is such a shock but it's kinda nice too. Don't expect you to suddenly cosey up to her though, so no panicing on me.
And now, back to the study. Was it yours or my time to call next? Got a free period coming up on Friday that I could call, or you could call. Anyway, we'll work it out.
~J.

Carlie,
You hear many things about the mansion, it seems. Yes, we have a new student, who will soon be officially a little sister to myself and Amanda. Her name is Meggan, and she would seem to be a shapeshifter and an empath of some kind.
Congratulations on your finals, and you would be very welcome to visit Xavier's. I would be glad to have lunch with you and tell you whatever you would like to know. And I do not think anyone would call you boring.
Is that a good beginning to the conversation? ;)

Date: 2005-05-04 11:42 am (UTC)My big sister's an ex-cop - I've got a good line on all the gossip. *grins*
Shapeshifter _and_ an empath? That's a pretty weird combination there. Then again, it's not like there's any rules to mutation. Where did you find her? How's she settling in? Tell me all about her? And wait... Amanda's your sister? How does that work when she's English and you're German?
*grins* It's a date. I like the idea of having plenty of time to pin down all the people I want to and talk their ears off - basically I'll be there as long as I can. Either you'll get sick of me, or my parents will have to prise me out. ;)
Not bad. Gave me some stuff to work with. *grins*

Date: 2005-05-05 09:46 am (UTC)Amanda is my foster sister - our mother took me in as a baby and effectively adopted me. Amanda, however, was... taken from us at a young age and raised in England.
You are welcome to stay as long as you like, of course.
Good.

Date: 2005-05-05 10:10 am (UTC)*blinks* That's one hell of a confused family tree there, Kurt, if you don't mind my saying so. I mean, I figure it's bad enough with our family - Irish Catholics from way back, so I've got cousins like you wouldn't believe. But at least most of us are in the good old US of A. Must get confusing at family get togethers, all those different passports and languages...
Thanks. :) Oh, question for you - how far can you teleport? You do that, right? Could you make it to say, Philadelphia from there? It's about four hours' drive.
Carlie.
Re: Reply to Kurt
Date: 2005-05-05 12:46 pm (UTC)Most of my family are in the same place - with the clan, in Germany. Amanda and I, and now Meggan, are the only ones I know of in America.
I can teleport about two miles at a time - I could not reach Philadelphia in a single jump, but a series of jumps ought to be possible. I would need to have a clear picture of my destination in mind, though.
