I think that with Paige leaving and seemingly being removed from training that we are going to be missing one person on some of the routine rotating duties that we have as trainees. I am not even certain which of the rotating maintaince chores she was assigned to this week - Jubilee, could you check and see if it was on her calendar?

I am fairly certain that Mr. Summers, Alison and Ms. Munroe will not leave us uninformed as to how the schedules may or may not change, or how they would like us to fill in for Paige while she is gone, but I thought that it might be a good idea to be - I think the word is proactive? - and perhaps come up with some ideas on our own first.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

From a manpower standpoint, we're down one. From a tactical standpoint, Husk brings a lot to the table on analysis, so those who were depending on her are going to have to pick up a lot of slack.

From a team standpoint, treat her as a casualty, adapt, and move on.

From a tactical standpoint...well, only one of us has prior military experience. I'm just a guy who reads too much military fiction. So I'm thinking we should maybe have a trainee meeting to discuss how tactics will have to change? Doesn't have to be a formal thing, we could have Trainee Pizza Night or something.

Thoughts?

Good idea. Back deck of the boathouse after the session tonight? LeBeau's still sick as a dog, so we'll see what we can dig up for grub.

Backwards. Tactics is small, strategy is big. Remember the football analogy: deciding whether to throw a pass or run the ball is strategy, deciding HOW to throw or run it is tactics.

And casualty don't mean dead. It just means that something's taken her out of the battle. And we're all going to have to step up - you and Jubilation too. Day might come when you're the only one capable of putting a plan together, and you're going to have to be prepared for it.

I'm working on it, the strategy part anyhow. Still got a dozen books to read, and adding more each day. Is there no end to this stuff? It's like everyone's got an opinion when it comes to battles and wars.

Tactics is a hell of a lot easier then strategy. Heck, it might be good if we do some mock strategy meetings. Maybe make up a battle or a war or whatever and just brain storm it out. Could help.

Ooh. Boardgames! Boardgames are cool, and in this case, also educational. Risk sounds good.

My strategy tends to consists of "blow it up and see what happens," but it is time I learned something new. All those hours of Final Fantasy ought to pay off somehow.

Oh, answering the calendar question. She had a dayplanner she used but it looks like she took it with her. The stuff she was doing should still be on the computers though, I don't think our trainee schedules are locked down security wise or anything. (Well, not unless we want them to be, anyhow.) Let me have a look and I'll get back to you guys.
