Subject: An apology
I didn't mean to push any particularly sensitive buttons today - and I think I'd actually like to discuss the topic with you (if it's okay) once tensions aren't running so high. I think that since I don't have any real emotional stake vested in those kind of issues that I didn't recognize that the discussion was so heated, and in that context, that my comments could have been taken as inappropriate.
It's too bad you're going to college next year, I'm told there's a Debate class starting up that I think we'd have some good interaction in.

This is kind of also to Angie by proxy, I suppose. You're well aware, I assume, that everyone's on edge with finals and today's argument series on the journals didn't help, I bet. So tomorrow, the march of the pastry artillery will begin. And one-armed as I am, I'm going to need someone to help me load the Jello Cannon. Dr. McCoy's happy to play Hannibal to my Napoleon here, feel like playing Patton?

Hey, I know you're nose-deep in your studying right now (and that's weird, but awesome. You're going to do fine, man) - but feel up to giving me a hand with a mass-quantities raid on the pantry tonight to get some, uh, materials for a project tomorrow? We're gonna need a LOT of Jello...

Its weird for you? Try being me. Thank God its warm and I can take my ass outside to study. History essays are done. Thank God for alternate exam assignments. Not looking forward to the ones I have to actually take an exam for. Maybe I'll -pass- Spanish for once.
Jello? Oh, MAN. That stuff stinks. You're lucky I like you, dude.
I'm going to probably take a cut of the ammo though. Average-Brain-Fuel and all.

I'm in. I refuse to have a stupid little yappy dog of any sort, though. I'm so very in.
I mean, seriously. Did we learn nothing from the LAST time I had to post asking people to please go to neutral corners and calm the hell down? It was JUST LAST WEEK! GAH! I understand that religion tends to be a hot-button issue for a lot of people, but what is it about that subject that just completely turns the logic filter in people's brains off and instills this absolute need to be right?
Gnh. Can you tell I'm a little frustrated?

Hey, I actually get the pop culture references. I win at life.
I'm chalking it up to finals stress. Summer can't come fast enough.

I figure it's a combo of finals stress and logic being short-circuited when religion is the subject.
Angie's offline for the night, but she wanted me to inform you that she is absolutely in for Operation Pie To The Face as well. Should we need something imaged to cover a hasty retreat, she's all over it like a thing all over another thing.

I'd be happy sometime to discuss religion and/or history with you, and try to show you why there is an emotional attachment, at least for me. I have to admit, you're really good at pushing emotional buttons with what you feel are purely intellectual discussions. I guess practice with stuff like that will help you figure out when you're ending up on thin ice.
I think you'll like the debate class. I took it with Dr. Grey when I first got here, so if you want any help, let me know. Depending on when it's scheduled and whether or not I have to be in the city then, I might audit some of the classes.
By the way, your jello canon looked very good. Sorry I ran off, but I didn't feel up to dealing with any of it.
