Hey, hon.
Wanda and I made it in one piece, with nothing worse than a skin of our teeth flight transfer and a rather bumpy ride into the wilds of southwest Alaska. Oh, and the giant roach Wanda found in the tub of the hotel room - five star accomodation this is not. Just as well both of us aren't the princess type. *grins*
And this wireless set up you did for my laptop is just perfect - this isn't exactly Silicon Valley. *wry* The telephone's still a newfangled invention.
Tomorrow we'll start tracking down people and asking some questions - Wanda's going to go to the local library/records office/only place with a fax machine and see if she can't find anything regarding the settlement, and I'm going to visit the local GP who's been here since the Seventies and is still practicing, believe it or not. He's got to be in his seventies by now. Here's hoping his memory's still sharp.
How are you and Billy doing? I hope you've got plenty of help with things, but not too much - wouldn't want you finding a substitute for the Diaper Queen, after all. *smiles* Take care, okay? And keep an eye on Carlie for me? I know she's all grown up, but sometimes she gets a little carried away by the moment. ;)
I miss you.
Maddie.

Wanda and I made it okay and we're planning to hit the local records and talk to a few people tomorrow. We'll probably head out to the settlement the day after - by all accounts it was finally abandoned several years ago, but you never know what might have been left behind. If you want, I can take/send pictures - I brought the digital with me.
It's up to you - you're the one in control here, hon. *grins* Consider me your very own personal ex-FBI agent.

Reporting in as requested. *grins* Things were pretty uneventful, and I'm expecting them to continue that way - this is the sort of place where a new outhouse in the Jones' back yard makes the front page. Teeny tiny little place. We're sticking together for now just to take stock, see what response we get before splitting up, but I really don't expect problems. Well, except trying to separate Wanda from the motorcycle she's going to need to use to get to the Inuit village. *grins*
Here's hoping that kid sister of mine doesn't lead the students in rebellion and we come back to Lord of the Flies Westchester-style. ;) Keep a vague eye on her - she's well-meaning, but sometimes overly enthusiastic.

Hey guys. :) Just a quick note to let you know we made it. Giant cockroaches in the bath and all. Yes, Carlie, I still have issues. Gah.
I'm hoping we should find what we need pretty quickly and without hassle. In any case we'll be back on the 1st, so your grand plans to take over the world will have to come to fruition by then. *grins* Do me a favor and help Hank with Billy? Hank's hands are the best size for some things, and I'm not there to do the usual stuff. And yes, I know, there's plenty of people who will help, but I'm counting on you two. Not only to help with the baby, but to not let him mope in the medlab or his suite overmuch. If I know Hank, he'll want to mope.
Okay, Wanda's declaring if we don't go and eat soon she'll start gnawing on the furniture. Carlie, if you need anything, as Hank or Alison or Scott, and you both have my cell number for emergencies. Have fun, and don't glitter the place entirely, okay? ;)

I'm glad to hear you made it okay. :) And I will hereby state that I'd back you and Wanda against any roach in the country. Somehow, I truly can't see either of you screaming and jumping up on chairs in a girly fashion. (Something I did once. The whole 'EEEEE, a crawly thing!' routine, complete with screams, jumping up on a chair, and frantic pointing. I do believe that Storm nearly died laughing while she shooed the spider outside. Why, yes, I do think I'm funny... *g*)
I shall be getting onto my own end of the research today, and I'm glad the wireless setup is working... at least we can still talk via email. And I'll call, at some point, if you have time. While I'm quite capable of living for a few days without you, that doesn't mean I'm actively happy about it. I miss you... and you know, I need to come up with some amusing pet names for you. *g* I'm currently inclined towards 'tiger'... since you're tawny, fierce, and quite knee-weakeningly sexy when your eyes get all fierce and glinty. Have I mentioned how much I like your temper, of late? I do.
Billy and I are doing fine, but I think he misses you. He was making an inquisitive sort of burbling noise after his bath when you didn't turn up to tell him how handsome he is. However, his plush Sully distracted him entirely. Those with the attention spans of less than a minute are so fickle, aren't they? ;) And I'll keep an eye on Carlie, and incidentally while I do so tell her probably more than she wants to know about how handsome, brilliant, charming, and delightful my son is. I may even let her hold him, if she's good.
Take care, tiger. Eat, sleep, all that wacky stuff that we doctors usually forget to do. I miss you too.
-Hank
PS: Billy sends you one of his little nuzzly things that make the knees go all rubbery with sheer awwww-factor.

Oh, there was a chair. But not so much standing on it and screaming and more using it as a blunt instrument. *hides* I don't like roaches. At all. And the taser was over on the nightstand.
Were there pictures? Of you and the chair and the screaming? Please tell me there were pictures.
I miss Billy too, even fickle as he is. *grins* I'd gotten used to Bath Time. And Dinner Time. And Cuddle Time. He's certainly the charmer, and I'm sure Carlie will pay him the appropriate amount of homage.
I'm taking care - in fact, I'm about to get some sleep, since it's late and there's a lot to be done. And I don't think Wanda would let me forget about eating - she tends to start giving me the sort of looks people give steaks on the barbeque if we don't eat regularly. *grins* Same goes for you, sweetheart.
Maddie.
PS: I think my opinion of the pet name is pretty obvious from the fact I'm using it as an email nick. Weak knees are good for the ego. I'll have to think of something a bit more original than 'hon' and 'sweetheart', I think...
And you like my temper? Strange, strange man. *grins* Good night, sleep well, and I'll call in the next couple of days. Count on it.

I don't like roaches either. Or other small scuttly things. They feel *awful* if they get on me because they get into my fur and... ugh. Imagine having one in your hair. It's most unpleasant. And no, there's no pictures, but I'd be happy to pose for one. *g* Just for you.
Billy does miss you, I think... he's been a little fractious at times, and he's usually such a quiet baby. I miss sharing those times with you too, especially Cuddle Time - having both of you in my arms at once is a particularly nice thing.
And I'm eating regularly... Billy reminds me. After sitting and watching him eat every two hours, I always think 'hm, I could use a snack myself'. So I'm averaging four small meals a day, at the moment, plus snacks, which is about where I'm supposed to be at my size. Sleeping is a bit more problematic. *g* But I'm doing my best. And tell Wanda I'm the only one who's to look at you as if you're a particularly delectable meal and I a starving man. ;)
-Hank
PS: I am very glad you like it - it fits you well. I like that you have a temper, and are as brilliant as you are beautiful. I'll be hovering by the phone, dearest.
