Moira's doing well. I think she and I will both be relieved when her due date finally arrives. We've got everything in order, so it really is just the waiting now.
This sounds like quite the job. I am familiar with CONGO, yes - international relations degree, remember? It sounds involved enough that I wouldn't want to be distracting you very often... we'll see how busy you are?
Really, I hadn't realized how that the time had gotten away from me like this. It's been so hectic around here. But I'm fine; no need to worry.

Date: 2005-07-20 09:27 pm (UTC)I remember being a complete wreck the whole last month that Esther was carrying you. Not that I had it particularly together throughout the pregnancy, if we're being scrupulously honest here - I was a very anxious expectant father by any standards - but I nearly drove her mad those last few weeks, I think. She was perfectly serene.
I certainly didn't mean to suggest that I was considering you a potential distraction, son. I just prefer, for a job of this difficulty and significance, to exercise as much personal supervision as possible. I have all faith in my people, but the ultimate responsibility for success or failure is mine - I've always seen it that way, at least. Westchester is simply a little too far away to be able to get back to the site rapidly if I'm needed.
I was quite serious about hoping that the mountain would come to Mohammed. I do want to see you, very much, if you're amenable to that. You're sounding a little overwhelmed again; perhaps an occasional break would be a good thing? If nothing else, I do have a baby gift that I believe I'll bring with me instead of shipping it, now.

Date: 2005-07-21 01:56 am (UTC)I know you didn't think I was a distraction. I just didn't want to wind up being one unintentionally. I could make it into the city at some point, I don't think that would be a problem.
