You'd have a point - if Jean hadn't sat her down and told her precisely what happened as soon as she was conscious and coherent. I guess this answers the question of how much she retained; Jean was worried about that, so she was going to talk to Charles about it.

But I think this in general sounds like something that we without psychology degrees should probably leave to Charles, no?

I'm her friend. Chuck's her boss. Whatever degree he's got, I'm still going to take an interest in her well-being. Just so long as no one's keeping information from her.

No one's keeping information from her. Jean's got some pretty concrete ideas about her patients and full-disclosure. Even if it turns out they need to be told more than once.
