Subject: Danger Room Training Idea

The other trainees and I were inspired tonight by Disney's latest atrocious attempt at creating cinema. In Sky High, the students are paired and face something of an obstacle course. There are two teams: heroes and villains. The heroes have to rescue a dummy suspended from the ceiling over a pit of revolving blades. They have three minutes to save it before it's dropped. The other pair are the villains, who have to distract the heroes long enough so the dummy is destroyed.

We were discussing adapting this as a team-building exercise for us. When we are ready to train in the Danger Room together, we could be split in pairs and assigned the same objectives: one pair has to save a "hostage" that the other pair is guarding. This would help us build teamwork, learn to trust one another, to strategize, and to learn more about each other and what we are capable of on the field.

It's more than just a simple capture-the-flag scenario, because we would be pit against one another, not against the Danger Room. Thus, we'd identify and exploit each other's weaknesses, which would put us on the path to rectifying said deficiencies.

If you would like to speak more on this, my cohort and I are brimming with ideas.

There are team-based hostage-type scenarios on the training rotation already. I'm not so sure about setting up an actual OpFor, at least not trainee-on-trainee. I might consider a trainee pair trying to rescue a hostage from an X-Man pair. Let me think about it some more.

And who the hell is Sub-Zero?

... What if we pout and promise to eat all of our vegetables?

I know that our Danger Room sessions are supposed to teach us strategy and tactics and effective uses of our powers - but would it be all that terrible to let us have fun with them once in a while?

Sub-Zero is Bobby. I think it is from a video game.
