Subject: Dazzler's suitability for light-contact sparring

After her latest round of psych evals, and based on Charles's personal recomemndation, I would like to recommend to you that we put Dazzler back in the training rotation. Light contact only, full pads, supervised at all times. We ease her back in slow, and she should get back into the saddle reasonably quickly.

She's got the greenlight from Psych. I can get her back into the swing of training, and depending on how that goes ... we'll see about giving her her command back. But that's pretty far down the road.

I'd like to, if the rest of Command doesn't see it as a conflict of interest. If so, I can step aside and let Kylun handle it.

He's the more spiritual, more balanced fighter anyway.

But I'd like to help her - I know what she's going through, I've helped her get this far. I'd like to see the project through to completion.

No, I'd prefer we let her go at her own pace. Rather than dangling 'Well, maybe, eventually, we can talk about giving you your command' back in front of her face.

Everyone should have a goal. I just made hers getting her command back.

If it doesn't work or if it winds up being hazardous to her mental state, we'll find something else that will work better.

Look, you sleep with her. I trained her. Maybe you've got a better grasp on her emotional state, but it appears I know how her mind works on the intellectual level a little better than you do.

This is not motivation of a form that's going to work with her.

So you're questioning my dedication now? Or merely my approach? I know her, Scott. I know her better than you ever will. I know what will work with her, and what will not. I'm the one who has listened to her nightmares, who has talked her down when she's curled up in a ball.

I've talked to Charles extensively on this very topic. Bastard drank all my tea.

I don't think you have a lot of grounds for comment along these lines, Scott. Aren't you the one handling Jean's reintegration into the team structure?

Practice what you preach, or recurse yourself and let someone else handle Jean's training.

I am questioning your grip of the situation when it comes to her retraining, not her recovery. I'm going to give you credit for understanding the distinction I'm trying to make. There are whole areas of the latter that I would not presume to give you the first word of advice about, but when it comes to the former... it's not your dedication, but your approach.

And Jean would be a better counter-example if I planned to let my own emotions concerning her rejoining the team play the slightest role in any work we do together. The instant I do - and I have Charles and Ororo both watching me for that - I will be recusing myself.

If she can't hack it - if we can't get her to the point where she can resume her duties - then I don't want her at my back and I won't trust my life in her hands.

And I will be the _FIRST_ one in line to deal with it when it pops up.

So back off, Chief. I've got it covered, and I've got spotters that I check in with daily to make sure that we do this right.

For fuck's sake, Scott, it's not like she _died_ or anything.
