Subject: JETSTREAM designs
After speaking with Dr. Hawksmoor at length, we've come up against a serious problem with the cybernetics and plans that were retrieved this morning.
That being that they won't work as designed. While adapted from the original Jetstream designs, this generation doesn't take into account the extreme heat generated by the subject's mutant power, and quite simply will not function as designed.
I can fix this. I can adapt the myomer to operate at high temperatures, but it'll take time and some intense redesign. Once I have a preliminary design, I can figure out what will be needed to adapt the existing backups of the MMI firmware we have. It's going to require a complete rewrite of the software, which will need out programming specialists. No need to call them back onsite just yet, I don't have parameters ready for them. But we're going to have to work fast once I get them.
Problem the second: This may be a secondary issue - this is patented technology that I'm dissecting and reverse-engineering here. If certain federal authorities catch wind of this, not to mention the patentholders, there may be a legal battle to turn over all prototypes, designs, and works in progress. While right now my plan is to charge ahead and damn the legalities, someone may want to look into this while we're busy saving Mr. al-Rashid's life.
Will be in the mech. lab unless otherwise indicated. Paige? I'm going to need some hardcore atomic chemistry expertise here, which means you're my primary on this. As soon as someone can put Kitty and Doug in contact with me, please do so.

Date: 2005-09-02 05:43 pm (UTC)I'm done on anything I can do for this other than data crunching, so I'll start going over what I have here to see if there's anything that might help. I'll grab Nathan too later for the legalese or whoever's not working directly on stuff already.
Everyone else who can help directly with Haroun should concentrate on that.
Forge - if there's any further materials or information that you need which can't be grabbed from storage or the mainframe, or what was brought in this morning, let me know.

Just posted an update on x_medical, hopefully should be echoed on x_team shortly. The short version? We've achieved stasis. He's not worse, but he's not better. But there won't be any surgery at all until we can get this spore out of his system, so we'll be concentrating on that.
To that end... is there anything on the intel databases about the mutant who gave this to him?
