My genius and your genius are in the lab working now. Mine went into a very odd state on the airplane, and I do not expect it to get better now that he is actually writing in the computer languages. On two different keyboards, from what I can tell. My boyfriend is very strange.
I suspect he will not remember to eat, or sleep, or shower until this is done, and I am not sure that Forge will be much better. I would normally just assume that (if the rumors are indeed true), that Paige would see to the care of her genius, but she too is in the lab.
I think it becomes our task to see to the care and feeding of the Genius Quartet, since we have access to half of the Quartet's belongings easily and readily. I can get a list of things Paige needs from her roommates if you can speak to Forge's roommates as well. We might as well make sure all four of them are taken care of so that no one else has to.

Did they show Swordfish on the plane, or something? I swear, the minute they invent cranial computer jacks Doug's gonna be right there with a big grin and a cordless power drill.
But yeah, I think we've been doing some "must love geeks" parallel thinking here--I got Kitty to agree to a few ground rules about food and sleep and not turning completely into a server gnome and that's been going pretty well, we should be able to cover the other three without too much trouble. I almost think we could just round up Kyle and Catseye and turn them loose on Forge--that'd be funny as hell and it'd work.
There are rumors about Paige and Forge? Man, one cross-country gremlin exorcism and I get all out of touch.

Swordfish? I am not sure I know this movie, but no. They had a television screen on each seat, but I think the movie was Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
I am fairly sure I can make Doug sleep and eat, but I may need help with the sleeping, because Doug is stubborn.
I am positive that Catseye and Kyle would help, and that would definitly be funny. We could use the help, I think, if the two boys get too stubborn about sleeping. Catseye is good at making people sleep, she will just sleep upon them.
Yes, rumors about Paige and Forge. That is all I heard, is that there are rumors. I did not hear any of the actual rumors.

Oh, I liked that one. Swordfish was this hacker action movie thing with Hugh Jackman and John Travolta and there was a scene where Jackman's character did his thing with multiple keyboards. Wasn't actually very good; Travolta was being his bog-standard "I Am Evil John Travolta" villain character for, like, the third or fourth time, and I got bored with that after Broken Arrow.
And I can never decide if Doug's actually being stubborn, or if he's just turning into a computer zombie and forgetting about the non-electronic parts of life. I bet as long as you didn't block his typing or his view of the screen, you could do damn near anything you wanted to him, which is a theory I really wanna test sometime when it's not potentially screwing up a life-or-death situation. Because, again, funny--I mean, if we somehow managed to lift his chair and his computer desk onto a trolley simultaneously we could probably roll him right down the hall and he'd never notice.
I'll see if I can track down Kyle and Catseye. Actually, you know what, I'm hungry, I'll toss some steaks on the grill and wait ten seconds, it'll work just as well.
. . . How do you only hear that there are rumors, anyway? Did somebody say, "hey, there are these rumors, but I'm not telling you what they are?" Because that sounds kinda dumb.

Oh, that movie. I think I remember that. It was very bad. With that woman and her bare chest. Which was also bad. The entire movie was not to my liking, and Doug was rather annoyed by it because of the bad technology.
I do not think Doug is being stubborn. I think it is a computer zombie thing. It ... it is a little like how he is in the airport, only worse.
I heard there were rumors, but the people that said there were rumors only said that they'd heard rumors and not that they'd heard anything else. It is very frustrating.

Think we should remind him about not liking that movie? Or maybe he'd just start trying to get you to be his Halle Berry, and then you'd have to smack him.
Think we should maybe try to get him in with Doc MacTaggart once she's not scary busy and see if he can maybe work on getting that under control? Because I can think of roughly a gazillion different ways he could get in trouble losing track of the world like that and I don't just mean from my sense of humor.
You should smack your rumor people. They aren't doing a very good job.

Did the computer programmer in that movie go into a strange state where he did not talk and did not hear when people told him to turn his computer off?
And yes, I intend to talk to Dr. MacTaggart once all this is over, because Doug is scary sometimes like this. More when he is not doing computer things, but reading or doing his martial arts things.
My rumor people should be fired. They fall down on the job a lot.

I didn't notice, I was paying too much attention to topless Halle Berry and hoping my parents wouldn't wake up and ask me what I was doing up so late.
I figure it can't be good for his head, and it definitely won't be good if it happens once you guys are on the actual team, so yeah, the sooner the better I'd say. Assuming catastrophe stops striking long enough to get it done, anyway.
Do you pay your rumor people?

I know it is not good for his head. He is going to have such a headache after this is all done. He always does after big programming or engineering projects.
Maybe it is related to the cicadas making him cranky last summer.
No, maybe I should pay them. Maybe they would explain the rumors to me then!

And what do you bet he just passes it off as the price for being able to help?
That might be worth a shot. I tend to find food makes a good bribe.

I know he will. When all this is over, will you help me get him to see Dr. MacTaggart? He has been putting it off forever.
Food always makes a good bribe. I will look into this.

Big noble dork. Yeah, 'course I'll help.
I get my best results from sugar and/or meat, just so you know.

He is, but I love him, in part because he -is- a big noble dork.
I think in this case, sugar might be best. I will let you know any results I get.
