Subject: The 'Visit'

Since I don't believe I have access to the X-Teams directly, I'm dropping you all a line with the details of what happened yesterday morning.

Around 11 am, Gideon Faraday suddenly appeared on Muir Island, heading for the Facility. My security staff have been briefed for certain individuals and they contacted me right away. We were able to put the lock down measures into place before he got too far, removing as many people as we could from the range that I believe he has.

Since he obviously wasn't there for a tour, I went out to meet him--watched very carefully by my security staff, of course. Looking back, I realize he was stalling for time but then I assumed he was simply attempting to bait me. Really, he was trying to do both.

Feeling threatened, both by his presence and his words, I drew the hand gun I had taken out with me. After an...exchange he suddenly approached me.

So I shot him in the shoulder.

It was right after that he vanished. As I returned to the Facility, I was told that a new nurse of mine, Elspeth, had suddenly vanished right in front of Dr. Connor's eyes. We then discovered that my personal computer had been hacked into and certain files were copied. I'm still going through the system to see what else was tampered with and I'll have a full list of the files in question by tomorrow morning.

I'm fine, Rachel's fine and everyone here at Muir is fine, if shaken.

I'll be home in a few days.

You know, if your husband didn't love you before... yes, that's me trying to lighten the situation with humor. Possibly not a good moment for it.

Are you sure you don't want a few of us over there until you get back?

Of course I shot him, I wasn't about to ask him to play chess. And that is my return attempt at humor.

Yes, completely positive. He got what he wanted, Gideon isn't the type of man to come back unless he didn't.

Besides, I have enough mother hens over here right now and all you folks would do is fuss and get bored.

I've always felt that you were the scariest woman that I know, powers or no powers.

Not even one of our resident computer geniuses to help you diagnose what was done to your database? And are you coming back on a charter flight, or would you like to be picked up?

I did not, incidentally, call your husband in Kazakhstan.

Well, I do try.

Tempting. However, right now would be a bad time. The security is already jumpy enough as it is, one of the newer young men nearly tackled Curt in the hallway this morning.

Curt is very good at side stepping.

However, I'll drop them an email and see which one would be interested in coming over to take a look. I might just take all of them either this weekend or the next.

Thank you, I'd probably have to turn some of that scary onto you if you did. I wasn't hurt, there's no need for him to worry.

If/when you get sorted out who you'd like and when, I'm sure we can prevail on Clarice or Illyana to teleport them over.

And I toyed with the idea, but figured it was best to let him finish what he's doing in Kazakhstan and get home. And then you can tell him, or at least protect me when I do.
