Hey Prof,

Will be coming back for a visit this weekend but I thought I'd give you the head's up on this a little sooner. It's kinda freaky, so I thought gettin' your advice would be good.

There's been some assaults here, physical in nature from what I'm being told. They're...hard to describe, really. From what the rumors say, seems like they're mutilated in some way. I ain't seen any of them with my own eyes, so I can't say. Just, might be mutants, maybe? Or perhaps a mutant doing this? The cops talking about it, the ones that have seen them, were thinking it could be either. There's no suspects yet and they're not about to release this kind of information to the public (Not surprising, considering the panic that could cause when we ain't got a lead to throw the press. And you know they'd totally start going on about how the Police aren't in control of the city and next thing, we're living in some post-apocalyptic nightmare world where I've got to dress in leather and even my old x-man training leathers were downright uncomfortable after a day. )

I'm figuring, telling you isn't completely breaking the rules. Just, consulting an expert, right? Now, either it's completely random and this is nothing more then some bad manifestations of the mutant genome or someone's being a naughty boy/girl and probably needs a spanking before they get worse.

Anyway, I'll forward any more information I get. Sorry I can't be more specific but I'm only hearing rumors and even then it's from a bad habit of eeves dropping on my instructors. (Yeah, yeah, I know. Was I sleeping through ethics class? I promise I only do it when I think they're saying something about me.)
