Amanda,
Actually, everything's good now. Or will be, in a little while - situation resolved, people being put back together both figuratively and literally. It's rather complicated, and I haven't really been following past last night because Mr. Fever came to visit yet again after I got back in. A little early for the leathers for me, apparently. But everyone's going to be fine, or so Moira says, and not in that 'I'm telling you this so that you don't fret' way.
Missing people tend to be awkward to find. It's this thing... but Rom's highly resourceful, you know. I'm not telling you not to fret, but think of it as suggesting to you that she can almost certainly hold her own until you and Pete and the rest manage to find her. And then you can listen to the two of them growl at each other and be entertained. That's something to look forward to, no?
I told Moira you told me she could tell me what's going on. I think I retained most of it, although she sighed at me and told me to go back to sleep when I started asking her questions. I thought that was unfair, because I could have sworn she said something about an aardvark. You don't have a new pet, do you?
Definitely, we should talk. I heard you're quite a bit blonder than you were. I know, that's not what you meant, and really, there were no jokes intended there... I liked the blonde Amanda when I met her, too. But no dresses, right? The frills were a little much...

Subject: No aardvarks here.
Date: 2006-04-18 11:31 pm (UTC)You been on the chocolate again? You're sounding a bit odd. Or did you go and overdo things again? No, wait, you mentioned Mr Fever... I hope you're taking it easy.
Um, of course you are. Never mind.
Hah. Listening to Rom and Pete doing the usual Wisdom family thing is something to look forward to. And while I'm worried about her, I'm sort of enjoying this too. The Trenchcoat Brigade aren't treating me like some clueless kid - I'm actually part of the team, which is beyond weird considering my whole 'doesn't play well with others' year last year. I hope I don't let them down.
Yeah, kept the blonde - I figured the new start might as well have a new look. And fuck no, no dresses. Especially not the Asgard ones. *shudders* I'm done being someone's doll. Of course, now I've said that there'll be some function we'll have to crash. *wry*
Amanda.
Re: Subject: No aardvarks here.
Date: 2006-04-18 11:54 pm (UTC)I really can't explain the aardvarks. And believe me, I've tried.
I gather Betsy's going to be back over to join you once she's done helping out here. She gave me a walker for my birthday, can you believe that? Forty's not that old. Still... you might drop a word in Pete's ear that she's liable to be a little worn, by the time she leaves here. She's doing a lot of helping pick up the pieces left by our latest psychopath, and he and I both know how good she isn't at keeping her own needs in mind most of the time.
I wish I could help her, but it's not something I'm particularly good at. Plus I'm stupidly behind on my own work, with the kidnapping and all... I'm teaching again, did Moira tell you that? Jean... left, unexpectedly, and I picked up two of her classes. I hadn't anticipated doing that.
And you know what Dom says - it's all about the right kind of dress.

Subject: Never ends, does it?
Date: 2006-04-19 01:16 am (UTC)And I don't want to know about this latest crisis, do I? The hints have been bad enough.
Teaching? Good. It was always what you were best at, you know. I shouldn't be your example, either - yeah, Angelo's been telling tales. Wasn't hard to work out why you hadn't started again. You needed to pick up and move on, least in that department.
Jean left? I thought she was married to Captain Tightpants? Wait, this is another of those stories I really don't want to know, isn't it?
*pokes at various chat rooms* Where the fuck is everyone? Looks like the magic community's gone and closed up shop completely. Think I'd better let Pete know.
