Tomas,

I find myself with the opportunity to cause a little trouble for Sebastian Shaw and thought you might like to share in the fun. Would you be all right with me passing on the details of what happened in Peru? I'll keep it to myself, if not, but I guarantee you that the person getting the information would be able to put it to good use.

It strikes me that you still owe me big-time for that mess in Singapore, Bynam. Since I'm a charitable man, I'd be willing to wipe the slate clean if you give me a few details about the work you've done for Sebastian Shaw over the years.

Heard through the grapevine that you had some unsatisfactory dealings with Sebastian Shaw. Care to share any details?

Long time no talk to, Pat. Think you can dig up anything about what's going on at Muir Island? I'd owe you one.

...because you owe me, Cindy, and you don't want to make me exert myself to collect. Trust me.

I want to know everything you can find out about what the army's doing at Muir Island. I know you've got sources I don't, so get digging. Consider this your opportunity to remind me why I didn't kill you for what you did to G.W.

How's the new life? I'm still boggling at the idea that you actually wanted to live in Paris, but to each their own.

Think you might check with your sources and see if they know anything about what the US army's doing on Muir Island? Your contacts are a little fresher than mine for recent stuff like that. Don't feel obligated, if the idea makes you feel twitchy. Believe me, I understand. It takes a while to stop expecting a retrieval team to break down the door every time you make contact with the outside world.

It may be a while before I'm anywhere in your vicinity again. Don't go scowling at the screen--it's a long story, and it's probably better that we avoid spending too much time around each other. I told you that after I extracted you, remember? We don't want to give our former employers any reason to start thinking about a two-for-one retrieval. It doesn't mean I'm not thinking about you, Ani. Anytime you want to talk, you have about fifteen different ways to get in touch with me. Use them, okay?
