Emails to Nathan, Pete from Domino

Before you ask, I was doing stuff for MacInnis. Apparently he has a number of friends in the 'Stans that might be useful to Elpis when we want to know precisely what's going on in that particularly murky part of the world. A few of them ruptured something laughing at the idea that Mac was working for a humanitarian organization, by the way. I had a lot of explaining to do.
So I'm back in Tel Aviv, and you'll be happy - the setting up of the office is moving along nicely. We're all still tripping over boxes and each other, but we've got some local staff in, finally. Or you possibly know that already, as David is leaning over my shoulder as I type this telling me not to reinvent the wheel.
So what's this I hear about something interesting in Nicaragua? I liked Nicaragua. Fun place.

And what are you up to, anyway? I'm just getting to some of the emails from Nate I didn't answer over the last month or so, and in between anecdotes about the littlest redhead, I find that apparently you're up to something. What you miss when you vanish into the former USSR for a few weeks...
Wish I could say I'd be over in Westchester anytime soon, but I'm thinking it's not too likely. We've got a lot of work to do here. Not to mention I have to do things like shop, because apparently I'm settling down. It's very tedious, trying to figure out what to do with the three whole rooms that are apparently mine in this big old house Nate bought for us. You'd like it, it's by the beach.

Then again, that should just make it easier. The sort of information we'll be looking for now isn't the kind that's at all risky to provide. Or so I'm hoping.
David's been keeping me updated on how things are going in Tel Aviv. I'm hoping to hop over at some point in the next few weeks and take a look for myself.
Nicaragua is... developing. I'll let you all in on it as soon as I actually have something.

Date: 2006-05-23 06:38 pm (UTC)What I have been doing, though, is going into business for myself. Sick of playing by Xavier's rules, sick of worrying about what'll happen if I piss off the wrong person and a bunch of kids get caught in the crossfire. So I've talked LeBeau and Braddock and Amanda into a mad plan, and hit Emma up for money. Another week or two, when I can pry ther rest of them form their wallpaper strippers, and we'll get to work stamping on any bastards that we can find.
We're set up in New York, which suits me very nicely.
I'll try to swing by Tel Aviv when I get a few clear days. I can even put it on expenses if I go talk to my mate Yossi while I'm there.

And Nate's is the one that looks like what it is, but because he's expecting people to buy that the entire Pack, plus a whole platoon of ex-Mistra operatives, not to mention Colin freaking MacInnis, have all decided to take up activist work, no one who knows any of us is going to believe it. I ran into Alexey in Moscow on the way back and he laughed into his vodka for a solid fifteen minutes.
I live in bizarro-world. I have decided this. Yet it's oddly refreshing.
You should come to Tel Aviv. Theo's found this great bar not too far from the house. I anticipate spending lots and lots of time there.
