Kitty's going to be making the actual announcement . . . soonishly, next couple days, I think, but figured I'd give you an early heads-up since it's, y'know, your state. Her mentor guy got a job out in Caltech and, y'know, just happened, somehow, absent-minded professor and all, to leave some of her stuff out where the other physics professors could see it, and apparently there was a departmental stampede to the admissions office and threats of mutiny if they didn't lure her out there. Which they did. They're letting her start her master's right away and pick up the bachelor's as she goes along, and damn near paying her to attend, and I keep wondering if we could hold out for a free car or something, they're being so accommodating. So it looks like we're gonna be moving out to California maybe early next month, which seems really fast but not when I stop to think about how much we're gonna have to do when we get there to both have jobs and school and, y'know, a place to live, and stuff. But it feels a little weird.
I'm so proud of her, though.

Congratulations to Kitty. That's fantastic! Pasadena isn't too terrible of a city. You'll have to call my parents regularly, you know. They're really good at pestering people who are near enough to visit.
So you're going to be hitting Ali up for a job, I imagine? I can put in a good word for you if you like. I have pull. *g*
Seriously, Jamie, that's fantastic. This sounds like an awesome opportunity for her. Plus you get the bonus of living in the best part of the best state in the union.
