I have overcommitted myself stupidly for the fall, and that's even without taking any possible burnout recovery/return to the team into account down the line. I'm going to need to juggle my language courses a little. Thankfully, that can be done easily. The Arabic can be changed to a once-a-week reading course - all of the students interested have taken the grammar course at least once. I reviewed the list of students for Russian - they're all advanced, so we can make that an upper-level course and hold it twice a week. Compresses the instructional hours, but I've always been in favor of that anyway.
Don't worry, I'm having to make similar arrangements elsewhere, too - I'm not just wimping out on the teaching as the path of least resistance. I should have some time tomorrow to come down and sort out the paperwork on the format changes if one of you will be in the office.

P.S.: Yes, I suck.

Date: 2006-08-22 02:13 am (UTC)Do not apologize for consolidating your classes - I would like to look over the changes, of course, but I trust that the classes will be taught at their usual high standards and the students will benefit from your tutelage.
You may stop by my office at any point tomorrow afternoon; I will have the paperwork ready.
