Subject: why I shouldn't check newsfeeds before going to bed

One of the pro-mutant militant groups operating out of the Smichov neighborhood in Prague blew up a railway bridge over the Vltava about an hour ago. They're claiming responsibility already. There were no trains on the bridge at the time, probably because of the time of night, but three maintenance workers are missing and presumed dead.

I'm going to set up the monitoring program to tune in and snag us copies of the morning shows in Prague and on the BBC and CNN and the like. I want to track what kind of official response the Czech government has to this, since we know that the Czech media is pushing the 'Smichov as the root of all our problems' line for all they're worth and whipping the public into a frenzy. What the government does now bears careful watching. And I think we can expect retaliation from the anti-mutant groups, given the pattern we've been seeing over the last few weeks. They're settling nicely into a cycle of violence over there, aren't they?

And yes, I know - the question of relevance still stands. But we've got some time on our hands, with all those projects gone to the Tel Aviv office. Keeping abreast of the situation isn't going to hurt. I'm forwarding all of this to the team database, too, although much as I'd like to pull on the black leather and go kick some sense into the "freedom fighters" using the people in Smichov as their human shields, I don't think that's likely.
