Apologies if a mailing of this nature isn't appropriate, but I'm uncertain of the proper protocol -- despite my classmates' claims to the contrary, such things do not seem to be in the student handbook. However, as of tomorrow any opportunity to address this issue may become problematic at best, and so I must make do.
I am aware I have not been the best of students. In fact, Jennie is even now standing over my shoulder effecting vivid commentary on this matter. Nonetheless . . .
You stopped me when I couldn't see I needed stopping. And more, you continued to let me stay on after I was not your responsibility or your concern. Should I have broached this personally I would be told, I'm sure, that you were simply doing your jobs. Certainly some would argue it was so. But whatever the reasons, what you did still meant something. To Jennie, who needed saving, and to me, who needed to be saved.
So, thank you.
. . . and know that whatever you may hear from this point on is all in good fun, and should in no way detract from the sincerity of this sending.

I... am glad you have come to feel so. I am called home for a time, but perhaps when I return to the mansion, we may talk?

No worries. As a happy consequence of receiving primary care from one of the world's preeminent geneticists and having a former flatmate whose mutant power entails an actual inability to cease having brilliant ideas, I myself will be occupied for the next little while. Conversation would be perfectly welcome upon your return, providing I am in a state sufficient to manage it. Time shall tell.
Enjoy the visit home.
