I know we haven't formally met, aside from the other week when I dropped by Snow Valley to deliver the item Pete requested. I'm assuming that since everyone seems to be in high spirits, or in some cases just high, that everything went okay with Xorn.

On a less potentially-world-ending note, I hear through the grapevine that you're Grand High Poobah over at Silver. I think we hit there for about 20 minutes or so when I got dragged along club-hopping for Clarice's birthday earlier this year, although you'll have to forgive me if I'm not too clear on it, all the club scene stuff tends to run together for me.

Anyway, to the point: A couple of folks have mentioned that Silver's pretty mutant-friendly, and doesn't exactly hide the fact. I help run a volunteer group called HeliX, we have a lot of programs we sponsor and promote to further public education about mutants as a way to encourage mutants to accept who and what they are without any social pressure or stigma. There've been a few setbacks in the last few years, but lately we've been getting a lot of grassroots programs going in different places that are interested in starting up chapters.

With that, I've been approached about the possibility of a fundraiser for HeliX, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in setting something up at Silver. It's a community service tax writeoff for the club if that helps in convincing the owners any. You know a lot of people in the scene who can spread the word, find folks who might be interested, make it a pretty sweet event. A couple of people have suggested a New Year's Eve party would be a good idea.

So, if you've got any thoughts, drop me a line or come by the school sometime.

To be honest, if you tell the owners that you're raising public awareness about mutants in even the most minute way, they'll jump on it like Britney Spears on a slice of cheesecake. So for something like this, I'm sure they'd agree to it without much convincing.

However (I hate that word), we've already started planning and advertising our New Year's party, and it's too late in the game to change much. We can still do a fundraiser, of course, but it won't be the main (or even a main) focus. We can raise cover by a dollar and send that your way, and we could set out collection plates around the bar, too. Oh, and send us lots of literature, too. We can strew that around the place so folks can pick them up and read it when they're not hung over anymore.

Getting the word out is the easiest part. Word of mouth travels very far and wide in my circles. So just send me the info on your group and you can consider yourself as good as funded in no time.

Not a problem. Every little bit helps, and getting a small amount of interest from three hundred people is more effective than getting a mediocre bit from fifty.

Subject: I am a player, after all

What kind of audience are you looking to hit up? We get mostly college age people at Silver, with the ocassional chicken hawk or young kid who sneaks in past our psychometrist bouncer. But this is New York, so it's easy enough for some of these kids to ask Daddy for some extra cash.

"He who has an ear to hear, let him listen." You said you've already got a party planned, and the usual Silver clientele is probably predisposed to the message anyway. We're looking for anyone who'll pass the idea on, really. People who know people, that sort of thing. Word has it you're the guru of social networking. Let me know what you need to work your magic, and Santa Forge might drop off a few things to upgrade that little hobby bench you've got in there.
