So, I just got an invite to the FBI, New York office, Christmas party on Friday night. It's at the Alexandria, semi-formal and such. If it's a typical party, there will be about an hour of lame speeches, some sort of cream sauce over tepid chicken breasts, and an open bar. Because nobody drinks like cops around the holidays.

Want to came as my date, spend a night in a large room full of people who could all legitimately arrest you if you tell the truth about your job? Could be fun...

I would love to. Well, perhaps not 'love to.".. It could be fun. It could be several hours of small talk with people that I want to drop anvils on. I can do that, you know. I can make anvils right there and drop them. I might, if you ask nicely.

If I get arrested, it is not my fault. Does semi-formal mean the uniform? Because I still have not gotten to see it...

I should point out these people are cops. You know, the good guys? They may smell a little funny and have a strange sense of humour involving corpses, but otherwise, salt of the earth types.

And no, I'm afraid you only get my surprisingly well tailored suit. However, I could always pack the uniform for the right incentive.

Oh, the good guys. So I take it Magneto will not be in attendance? I hear he is quite the party animal. Of course, that could be a hallucination talking. I once had a nightmare about him and Marie braiding each other's hair.

... You know, Amanda has a strange sense of humor involving corpses and used to smell a little funny from herbs. Legal ones. And yet, she and the police have never gotten along.

You know, Magneto being there would be the best thing ever. Cops would love the chance to play 'circle beat the terrorist prick' after a couple of drinks. As for Amanda, didn't she start out on the streets or something? You tend to get a skewed view from that perspective.

Party is at seven, I'll come get you around 6-ish? As for incentive, remember the whole thing with the hat. Just the hat? I'll dress up for you if you do the same for me.
