Subject: Crystal and Kyle

Okay, so Kyle just came by my room with a shredded network cable, asking me to keep it away from him for a while. I suspect he's gone camping in "his" tree for the forseeable future.

I'm not sure how to deal with this incident between those two. Is it better to try and let them resolve it themselves? I know Crystal's had her differences with the staff before, would trying to sit them down to talk just make things worse?

I'm worried by both of them, really. Kyle seems to be taking things awful personally. And I think Crystal's got a bit of a misperception about slang and so forth, seeing as how we have a number of students who English is not their first language, like Yvette or Sooraya.

I guess in a roundabout way, I'm trying to say I ain't precisely sure what to do, and I was maybe hoping somebody else would have some ideas.

I've emailed Crystal. I'll go find Kyle, then get back to her once I have a better idea of his side. I don't know, I brought up mediation as a possibility with her, and I will if necessary, but, um . . . maybe that's not such a great idea. At least not without a few nights' sleep between now and then. And I don't know about Kyle yet, but I kind of get the feeling that slang wasn't actually Crystal's primary issue in the journal exchange.

I'm gonna go find Kyle. I'll bring sugar.

It says a lot about the previous week that I'm still thinking of the latter as an acceptable answer to life's problems.
