Marius,
I do not wish to pry into matters that do not pertain to me, but one again, I find myself concerned about Jennie. This time, at least, she is not missing... that is, she is not missing physically. Her behavior is quite off, even for her. As I am sure you are already aware, tomorrow is the anniversary of her mother's death. I will be away this weekend, not that it would matter much to her if I stayed on campus as she is not currently interested in speaking with me, but I am hoping that she is still speaking with you. Is she? Is there cause for concern? You are her best friend, please tell me if I am being silly and worrying needlessly or if there is something very wrong happening with Jennie.

. . . sodding buggering sod.
Apologies for the profanity. It has just dawned upon me that whilst forgetting one's own birthday may be somewhat forgiven, forgetting the anniversary of the death of a mate's parent is not. Particularly when one attended the funeral.
I pause now for several blistering epitaphs that I will spare this email.
We are indeed still in casual communication, but it is Jen's way to tell little even when she says much. Of late she has been distant to me, and to most others what I shall generously term to be "tetchy." The periodic swipes on the journals are evidence enough of that. I was not quite so clueless as to fail to make some connection between the season and a certain impending date, but I had not realized it was tomorrow. An ignorant misstep which I can only hope will not prove critical.
I'll hazard a guess that your flat is now the cleanest in the mansion.

You can go to the room, check on Jennie, and see the condition of the room for yourself.
I hope that you have spent at least part of the day with her. How is she?

There was something of an occurrence today; the school's services were requested in the search for a local missing persons case. A number of the students volunteered, myself included. Jen chose not to attend. Considering the date I cannot say this comes as a shock. I sent her a text to inquire about her status -- to this she responded she intends to go out for the night, and politely made it clear that company was not appreciated. As pushing is not an ideal technique I shall bide my time. Perhaps tomorrow she shall be in a more accessible mode.

Marius,
I take that you mean a missing person who is not a student at the school. This is interesting. Hopefully this person was not missing for weeks before anyone realized it and started searching.
I also hope that Jennie will be in a better mood tomorrow. You know her better than I do, but even I know that pushing is not a good idea where Jennie is concerned. Please take care of her.
