Kevin,
I would have responded on your journal, but there were already so many replies, and sometimes some things are best not said in public.
This is above being "sheltered." The majority of people who reside at the mansion are members of the kidnapped club. Many of us were held hostage at the same time and either joined the club together or officially renewed membership. Everyone here knows about the X-Men and what they do, even if the people who are not part of the team do not know all of the details. Although I am sure that this was not the intention, the post about closing the school and the lack of information given clearly confused and upset the students, not to mention other mansion residents who are not members of the X-Men.
I apologize if my comments about “clubs” bothered you. It is not an easy time for anyone right now, and I have recently found myself a “member” of a few clubs I did not think I would have to join. I was not really trying to annoy you.

Noriko,
The clubs mentioned last night are not real clubs. I suppose some of them could be considered real, as there are enough people at Xavier’s who could join them, but Terry and I were simply being silly.
I know that you are confused and unhappy by what is going on right now with the school, but it sounds as though people will be having fun at Angel’s house. Hopefully, whatever is happening will be resolved soon and everyone will return to the school.
Sincerely,
Crystal

Julio,
I know this is an odd time to ask, but are you all right? You seemed very unhappy on your journal a few days ago and said a couple of things that concerned me. If you are having problems with a teacher, it would be better to speak with another staff member rather than insult that teacher or another teacher in public.

Date: 2007-10-25 07:11 pm (UTC)I told Kevin, and I'll tell you, too. Club acitivity is required at school back home. I kind of even miss my volleyeball club. But none of these stupid fake clubs do I want to join. And I read that post Amanda linked, and I went and spent some time last night reading some of the other things that have happened on the journals and that took way longer than it was really worth but it wasn't like I was going to sleep anyways so whatever, except I don't want to join those clubs and I think like at home it's not looking like I'm going to have a choice.
At least I'm getting out of here now. Who knows if that's an upside or not.

Crystal,
He is not my teacher. He has never been my teacher nor will he ever be my teacher. He is not a relative of mine. Therefore, I do not appreciate the way he spoke to me on the journals. I also do not appreciate this email. If there is a problem, I would appreciate either Angelo himself or one of my own teachers speaking to me.
Julio.

Julio,
I was referring to your comments about Dr. Farouk, who did not speak in any sort of negative way to you or about you on the journals. I was more concerned for you, actually, wondering if perhaps there might be a problem in need of attention. When I was a student at the school, I had a teacher treat me in an inappropriate manner. Rather than speaking to any of the other staff members about what was occuring, I remained silent. This was a mistake, and had I spoken to someone, an event I now regret would not have taken place.

Crystal,
I don't think anyone stayed particularly upset for very long over my post. I think I have a right to say what I feel, however. Whether people get upset or not is up to them and I can hardly take into account absolutely everyone's potential emotional reaction. I'm sure they got no more upset because of my posting than they could have rightly been all on their own. The comment interactions seem to have actually brought a number of people's moods up, actually, my own included. "Sheltered" may have been the wrong term to use, but I very much stand by the point I was making when I used it.
I'm not really bothered by the clubs thing. Yes, it was getting rather annoying to me, but lots of things annoy me and once they stop I get over a lot of things pretty quickly. The clubs comments manage to make that list, so don't worry about it much.
