Alison? I have been pouted at, cajoled and had sad puppy faces made at me. Do we offer a music class in the evenings? Doug seems to think he can return the evil of me making him take Dance. How did he talk me into this?
Doug - See? I emailed her. You can stop pouting now, and now you -have- to give into my request from a few weeks ago.

That's horrible cheating, it is. How dare he? Chocolate? Singing to you? Of all the nerve.
Well, I've classical guitar training so we can do a cello/guitar and likely piano pieces now and then. We've some fair pianists here in the school. And I'd suggest if you haven't had the chance to love the cello, well, it might have something to do with how you were taught before. Why don't we see if I can make cello playing fun for you instead of un-fun, mmm? That'll be my challenge for the tutoring sessions.
And keep in mind - this doesn't mean you can't explore another instrument as well. I'd think so long as equal time is given to the cello and your new instrument, I can talk your parents into going with it. How's that?

My instructor was... stuffy, I think is the word. He did not properly appriciate my want to learn to play things that were not 'truly' classical.
All that aside, if either of you have any ideas for other instruments... The cello is all well and good and will keep my parents from complaining, but I would love to take up something else as well.

Y'know, Ali, People Covered In Fish needs a bass guitarist, and the cello's not _that_ dissimilar...

Get him to wear the pants to the mall in exchange for it? ;) More than once, of course. There should be a ratio or something.

He wore them, after much pouting. Wait. You knew that.
What is the ratio for wearing of those pants to making me play two instruments? Because I think I deserve a medal, or chocolate or both.
