Shiro,
A parcel arrived for you today from Anne-Marie care of myself, and there is enough food in it to feed an army. There is also a letter included, instructing me to make sure that "the polite young man" is eating properly and recipes included to make sure that her definition of "properly" is being met.
I tried to get this woman's recipe for poutine out of her for almost two years before I gave up, then she meets you once and here it is. I should be annoyed, but you are the stray on her radar now, so I suppose it balances out (even if she can only do so much nurturing from afar).
Jean-Paul
PS: There is an envelope for you as well. I suspect it contains photographs. How much will I have to bribe you to assure that they never see the light of day?

Date: 2009-01-03 01:02 am (UTC)Oh. Thank you. This is certainly unexpected, but very kind. Please thank her for me. Also please let her know that I prefer "ronin" over "stray." I would like to cling to at least a little dignity if I may.
I should at least see the contents of the envelope before I decide their fate. I will let you know my price shortly.

Shiro,
"Stray" is my terminology, but I will keep it in mind. Also, you may call me 'Jean-Paul' if you like. I figure that is the least I can offer after putting you through a bout of me being drunk, sullen, and stupid.

Date: 2009-01-03 02:15 am (UTC)She is an odd odd woman. And yet I am not surprised that such a woman is responsible for you. It seems fitting.
I find it weird and a little disconcerting to address an authority figure by their proper name, but if you insist then I will. Feel blessed that you did not see me at my drunken worst (or my high worst, for that matter).
