Scott --

I ran into a girl in the gym today named Inez and she mentioned that the person who used to help her train in hand to hand is no longer at the mansion. Since we're both "bricks" I think was the term she used, I said I'd help her out if it was okay with you. Are there like permission forms involved or something or certification to become a grappling tutor? I did lots of training back in Beta most of which was with Logan but I've never had a student. I swear I won't teach her any lethal techniques - I'm not sure I remember all of them anyway - but we think I could make a good opponent for her. It's totally in your hands or whoever's hands you tell me to go ask; I'm just assuming it's you I have to talk to first.

Lil,

It's definitely a possibility - the two of you have complementary powers. But I'm neither the headmaster or the self-defense teachers, both of whom you should ask. I'd suggest having a clearer idea of exactly what you do want to teach her before you do that, however. We've had some issues in the past.

Still learning the ins and outs of the school stuff, Summers; giving me those names instead of just 'self-defense teachers' would be a great help. And not so much teacher, tutor I guess is more like it. For now, anyway.

Let's not split hairs. You're proposing to teach her - whether you call yourself a teacher or tutor is pretty much completely immaterial - and as she's a student, you need to consult with the people who are paid to teach her self-defense. Specifically, Morgan or Angelo.

I'm not trying to split hairs. I was just looking for some help, that's all. I've been here a month and all the names and faces and jobs and teams are still a little meshed together.

And I wasn't not gonna ask them - and ask what they suggested would be best for her regiment. I'm not familiar yet with what she's covered in class seeing as I met the girl once but I'll definitely ask her teachers who I didn't know. That's all!

If you're going to do this, you can't be brushing it off as 'just' tutoring. I'm going to elaborate on what I said in my first reply - we've had one near-catastrophe with self-defense training in the past. If you're going to take on this responsibility, you have to clear it every step of the way and take it deadly seriously. I may not be the headmaster anymore, but I will not have any further issues with the students, self-defense training, and anyone connected to the team. Period.

Mr. Summers,

I was just trying to offer the girl some extra help. I'm perfectly willing to abide by any and all rules - which is why I told her I would talk to you first to figure out what was the best way for going about that. Believe me, I'm gonna take this very seriously if it happens and I appreciate the help you've given me but I'm really just trying to help Inez - as a supplement not a replacement for her classes and other training - because she said the guy (Manko, Marko, something like that) she used to work with has left and because we do have similar powers, it could be helpful for her to have someone like me to work with. I will be emailing the headmaster as well as her teachers within the next few days to see if this is possible.
